They'll probably only adapt part 2 volume 3 and part 2 volume 4 since we're apparently only getting 10 episodes.

This will finish part 2. (volumes 6/7) It's the perfect ending point for the anime.

Ending point? So they're not going to adapt any more, I take it.

I believe "this season of the anime" is implied

Finishing part 2 gives a decent ending point, as it is the end of an arc in the novel. If they want to get to the next end of arc, it would require 2 more seasons (if rushed), or perhaps 3 seasons (if adaptated more leisurely).

The anime would need to be a big commercial success for the company to greenlight 2 (or 3) seasons in one go, so many people doubt it will happen. But we can always hope...

No, once we move past part 2 there's really not anymore stopping points. They would have to do the remaining 26 volumes of material, basically. These 3 seasons are literally just the prologue.

I'd say there isn't really a good point to stop, but as you said part 2 is probably the best of the "cliffhangers" or transitions in to the next part.

What I wouldn't do to see all of it animated. The GOAT LN in my book

TBF, it's not like partial adaptation of LNs care that much about stopping on a cliffhanger, or car about stopping right in the middle of an arc.
Spice & wolf for example was stopped in the middle of a 2 volumes arc even though stopping at the end of pretty much any other volume would have avoided that, since most story arcs in S&W are one vol long.

So they could totally make a 4th season to start adaption part 3, and stop there.

They'll likely continue making more seasons after this one. Happinet, whom is the main production company, is having a big success with this property. The novels sell good and so do the bluray

I wish they do.
just before S3 started last April they said in the TO-books website the total volume sales have surpassed 5.5 millions... now it have surpassed already 6 Millions. And I wish they reach or surpass the 20-25 millions sales.
IDK if those numbers count only LN's, or they include also the Manga adaptation.
