Jeanne is lucky to have people look out after her, even with her status.

Not surprised to see Team Hana-Gumi struggle in that fight, especially Kanna. Definitely one of the tougher fights for the team. Yikes.

Manga had some more stuff, it seems, like the butler is unaffected by the curse technique because he doesn't believe in an afterlife. They had to condense and cut out stuff, it's not shocking, though I wonder if there was something in the manga alluding about Peyote

damn how many chapters did they animate this episode? lol thats a lot of content for 24 minutes

yes Lyserg the greatest enemy is yourself they say

Anna is that strong huh she can fight Hao and wound him too

and suddenly Hao is the only enemy left all his teammates killed each other for some vague reason

ah no the master of Marco and that little brown girl is still alive so Hao still has some allies left

This episode felt like: Let's wrap up the most things we can,and kill people in not very exciting ways, because we have too many side characters.".

You didn't miss anything. It was around this time that the manga was initially wrapping up and many of the chapters were rushed. Hell, we didn't get a conclusion for many years.

honestly if your not a fan by ep 3 id say no the old one was a lot better put together from what I'm seeing up to ep 42 now the later new parts that's manga only are kind of stiff and stuff happens out of no where it feels super rushed for no reason or no detail put together at this point I'm just watching it for the train wreck and because i did love the old one a ton it had its problems in the middle but its a lot better done than this in my opinion as a over all shonen story and following the its characters till the end the only thing i like here is more of Anna how Yoh and Anna met witch is alleys a win in my book ^_^ the rest is meh a guilty pleasure at best

Wow, pacing sure was a mess this episode, huh? Not even Anna kicking Hao in the balls (or stomach, idk) could save it.

Never had the chance to finish the first anime, and never read the manga. Even with that, I feel there are so many things being skipped here...

I don't remember manga all that well after over 2 years, but yeah, definitely feels like it. Anyway you should read it, the adaptation really doesn't do it justice it deserves...

Hao thinks that he can bring down the entire world, with the fact that Marco used the X-Laws secret satellite to engage with foreign intervention.

Nevertheless, the Shaman Fight must continue, now that the Five Warriors are engaging the Great Spirit in Hell, as well with Hao vs. Anna with the latter buying time for Tamao and others' escape to bring Yoh back from Hell. At this stage, everyone is getting serious, yet feel like it didn't really reach that potential that mangaka Hiroyuki Takei wanted it to be.

With foreign armed intervention onto the lone island where the Shaman Fight is held, it's better that all grievances siding on Yoh vs. Hao must be dealt with, now that all 5 Warriors are back...except for Lyserg whose still dealing with his fears, stemmed on Mastema which in fact raged on his own soul, which Sati helped provide Tamao and the others to his aid.

The cleanup of foreign intervention ordered to Hao's minions, but Peyote and Tamarazaki literally said "screw the Shaman Fight" and went on a rage against the others. In the end, it's all the same story of evil using pawns to trounce others while they're being fed for his Furyoku. Anna kicking Hao in the nuts was not even comical.

The final stretch, and truth be told, I just want all of this to end ASAP.

Yeah there is a small content cut earlier on where Peyote had a conversation with Turbine after his loss against team The Ren. Other then that I think they didn't leave too much out, other then cutting some extra lines from Peyote's dialogue before he finished everyone off.

lol wtf was this episode... everyone randomly died, and Anna just kicking Hao like she is the strongest character in this world lol

seriously, i just remember enjoying this anime when i was like 12, but since i literally forgot everything about it, i was excited for this remake so i could watch it properly... but holy shit, apart from a few scenes (mostly with Yoh-Anna interactions), and the 4 episodes with Matamune... for me this was probably one of the worst animes of each of the 4 seasons it was airing ... i swear i wouldn't even thing about finishing it if... again, i didn't watch it before ...

like... geez lmfao

If that was rushed, I can only imagine how the episodes will start to be aired will feel like

It went slightly out of order, but that's expected in terms of making it flow better in animation, since I think the conversation Peyote had with Manta's dad's company after beating Hao's goons happened after the scene where Hanagumi approaches Hao, I only skimmed over the chapters out of curiosity (and certainly didn't get this far, I barely read up to the Silva fight when Shonen Jump's physical English magazine was released)

i feel this anime is disrespecting the source material it's adapting. i can feel that the story wants to transmit emotion, but the anime is so rushing through things, that i don't feel to care anymore.

if anyone can explain to me, if there's any sense in what i'm watching, i will be glad. for now though, i feel this episode was more of headlines titles than actual story telling.
and i can't believe there's more 9 episodes from this.
so just like in the 2001 version, i feel i'm keeping watching only because i got so far. and surprise, the 2001 version and the remake aren't so different in how they are messing with the story. even if the former is more "canon". it's just showing how much you can mess with the source material even without fillers. if there's something the 2001 version did better, is pacing, and that's why i'm gonna score this 6 and not 5,  due to matamune arc and other good parts. the rest, so far, is just a a mess.

aah as anticipated. seeing Anna was marvelous. although it was short but oof she is the perfect match for Yoh. seeing Hao beaten up like that gave such pleasure
but I didn't understand what happened with Peyote at all. he rebelled and killed everyone just because Hao didn't care for them? hmmm maybe crazy love may explain it
also that outro is really something

Glad that the Shaman Fight doesn't just exist in some vacuum. The weapon X-Laws used against Hao has brought attention the attention of various big players to the island, mainly the leading nations of the world...and a corporation, the one Manta's father owns and Peyote is in cahoots with them, massacring followers with Tamarazaki. Going at Hao with normal weapons has not worked well in the past, but his followers are turned into swiss cheese.

Tao Jun, who knows how to create Jiang Shi, is the one to learn how to resurrect her brother's team from hell. Was expecting Lyserg to show up and assist them against the Hana gumi, but he's still stuck in hell fighting his inner demon with Pascual.

Anna is resilient and allows Tamao and the others to escape. She's a fierce lioness who won't let Hao have his way.

Novels I have read/am reading pending approval: since November 10 2022

I have absolutely no clue how it is possible that Sati along with her warriors died easily from Hao's minions, when she literally went through hell the same way Yoh did??? And yoh had a very easy time against the minions?? Like wtf? And the show just literally turned into a cycle of dying and resurrecting and with more magic power up after dying, just the same way that Hao did, except that it only took those people only a short amount of time when Hao had to wait 500 years to be resurrected. It was getting really interesting, but now the story is making less and less sense smh.

The whole hell bit lack impact, it just happens. At least the Peyote part was interesting.
