Well I think it's nice to see the staff being informative to the audience about aquatic life.

It seems the anime really likes penguins and continues to show their behavior. Episode also had Fuka reconnect with an old friend, which I thought was interesting.

Fuuka showing she is a pro, and that she cares a lot about others which was really nice.
Her kouhai dropping by was also a nice thing thing to she and she learned a few things as well.

The little penguin seems to be pretty attached to Fuuka, i guess that it appreciates it's caretakers.

Ganbare! Shiratama-chan!!!
Fuuka was very nice and cares about her kouhai, Ruka, and the penguins. Right now, she's the real professional. It was very nice to see that she has grown more affection towards the aquarium job day by day.

Yeah it's always hard to take that first step, so it's nice to see Shiratama being able to take it. Also it was nice seeing Luka meeting with Fuuka again, specially since they have a good senpai kouhai relationship.

Although Fuuka is not active as idol anymore, she always dedicated in her work like a professional idol. I like the way she takes care and gives valuable lesson for her junior.

Another great story in this anime!

PS. I wonder if Rikako feels this episode almost like her begining as Aqours.

Yeah well, being an idol ain't easy by no means, fake industry built on lies, the moment they don't need you they throw you away like a damaged goods. But they always make sure to portrait it in such a nice and positive way in their anime.

And aren't we all just scared little penguins deep inside.

Welcome back, fellow idol-cum-friend Ruka. And the presence of the TV crew that Fuuka still knows back from her idol days to film Ruka's show-cum-penguin documentary, a lot of things are sure bound to happen.

Fuuka is still adamant on showing her face towards the camera (because she's not involved in idol work anymore), and Kuuya's just being dragged along because of Kukuru. The motivation from back then before Fuuka left for Okinawa, well the idol industry is just as cutthroat.

Glad that Fuuka's found a place where she can be free, and as much as Ruka has pushed herself for Fuuka's sake, there's just some things that are a stark contrast from one city to another (Okinawa vs. Tokyo), and Umi-yan knows it all too well.

Just for once, Fuuka decides to ace the show's recording with Ruka, and this I felt is for the better, not just to create content to satisfy fans of that "glitz and glamour" positivity while all the criticism and negativity lies at the back of their faces. I especially love the penguin scene though: Shiratama is just like the old Fuuka (if I can reference it well), all they need is a little patience to do the "job" that they need to do to overcome their fears.

A learning lesson in and of itself.

For me everytime Fuuka idol days come up, give a weird vibe, after all I understood that Fuuka quit before her career skyrocketed.

If you harass, you are no fan, you are a hater.

I see the problem of Ruka, the forced cutesy act like Nico from Love Live, who I like.

Im sad now that the prospect of Fuuka using those fantastic red heels is zero.

Given how much Kukuru wants Fuuka to stay the entry of her talent agency was always going to be a red light to her. The capacity of Tingala though really is impressive. Still its sad seeing the inner turmoil that Ruka is facing from the fans. Fuuka deciding to step in to help her overcome this was pretty nice. Though Ruka's talent may not be as great as Fuuka's with enough effort that can change. With a little push anything is possible as shown by the penguin's adaptation of its new life after Fuuka's intervention. Overall a pretty interesting ep that did well to showcase how much Fuuka had grown since her debut as well as the kind of struggles that idols like Ruka face as part of their careers.

Also, I wanted to ask for a long time. Are penguins considered part of ocean science? I live in a southern sea city, so I always thought that penguins are part of the Arctic fauna.

So we sort of side step the "cliffhanger" from last episode (tho it was at least brought up) to have an episode fully about Fuuka and showing her growth over the show. It was a wholesome enough ride. I wonder is the conclusion to this series going to revolve around the new section or w/e that Kukuru will be in charge of. And then the little red magical dude will somehow tie into that. Then the powers of gamagama will be present in this new section.

I'm still entertained when Kuuya gets all smashed up on alcohol. It never gets old for me! XD

Anyway, this episode did a nice job focusing on Fuuka and her friend from her idol days, Ruka. Her friend was here with her management superiors to film a documentary at Tingarla and it gave a good insight on Fuuka looking out for her kouhai while also giving her advice at the same time.

It came into fruition during the filming of helping the baby penguin, Shiratama, in overcoming its fears of the water and being able to swim with the rest of the penguins. Seeing Fuuka helping out the little penguin was motivational and it also cements how much Fuuka loves working as an attendant and Tingarla. Her passion and professionalism at her job is impressive. =)

Fuuka did amazing job being on TV and also giving needed encouragement for our baby penguin <3 The way Shiratama trusts Fuuka was very adorable and my heart melted the moment the baby hides below her being scared =^-^= I need to see more of that cuteness in future episodes!

Nice episode! The animation quality dropped this time, but I hope it gets better next week ^^;

The lesson here is weird tbh, I get that Fuuka's trying to encourage the baby penguin as she did for Ruka with the shoe gift, but surely pushing the baby into the water is a more forceful approach rather than "encouragement" by showing the water is not that scary by dipping her feet into it

Very good episode.

We finally get an episode centered around Fuuka (who has been a ghost in the second cour), and I must say it was very well executed.

The footwear being the symbolism of Fuuka's dream was nice. Fuuka's high heels were symbolizing her dreams of becoming an idol, and in this episode, she finally gives up that dream and gives them to her former groupmate.

In the next scene, you can see that Fuuka dips her red rain boots (which symbolizes her dream of working at the aquarium) in the water as a way to invite the penguin into the water.

Probably my least favorite episode overall, and it even had penguins and Kuuya to try and make up for it lol

I'm not a huge fan of Fuuka constantly throwing herself away to satisfy other people, and I never even liked her junior in the first place (I actually kinda laughed when they revealed she was being harassed by her fans lmao), so this episode was kinda boring for me. Also I hated how in the end Fuuka just shoves the poor penguin instead of leaving it be like she was claiming they should do.

I'm still curious about the new thing Kukuru has to do/is in charge of. But overall pretty meh episode. Or I guess it was perfect considering Fuuka has been meh from day one.

Alright. This episode is not about Kukuru and her big project. But its about Fuuka and her past life again as an idol, with the arrival of her ex kouhai. Really unexpected for me, especially when the direction seems to clear out, not about Fuuka only, but its also for her kouhai too on the severity of the idol industry. With the setting of the documentary show, one timid baby penguin became the center of those two's struggle. Ruka, unexpectedly quite overacting and off with the half of the filming session, making it quite hard for her to got a good work. But, with her kindness, after being retold about Ruka's problem on the idol industry about a certain usual detractors by Umi-yan, Fuuka once again gave an encouragement for Ruka. Not to mention she's also giving her precious high heels, and the last talk of her and the baby penguin kinda suggest, Ruka, its not the time to giving up. The baby penguin successfully glided in, while Ruka hopefully felt more better, out of the unnecessary pressure, and working hard too for her own sake. Fuuka amazing? Right. She's the Tingaara, special for the penguin, angel....

Great episode! Really glad we got a Fuuka focused episode, we were blessed with Fuuka greatness. She's such a great character, very comforting to us viewers as well. That closes the chapter on Fuuka's idol life as she moved on and found something new that she loves.

Shiratama was so cute, the way she just walks around and looks around while gathering the courage to swim. Shiratama is definitely symbolism for Ruka, sometimes all we need is a little nudge to face challenges head on. Ruka will be fine, I mean if you admire Fuuka, then you are definitely doing something right, you damn sure chose the right person to admire.

Kaoru continues to be underrated, her team is just an absolute blast. When will Kuuya learn his lesson on them plum wines lmao. Glad Marina got her tv time at the post credits scene. Now, we might go back to that new area with Kukuru next episode, so looking forward to that.

For the past 19 episodes of this series, this is by far the most procrastination I had ever had, constantly having to pause, and browse.

And so far, Kukuru has not changed and is still stubborn as always. She always sneaks out of work, like why aren't there any consequences for that?...

The heck? Fuuka pushed the penguin in, and they're acting like that was special? o_O

I guess they showed it as too strong push, imo it was something like Fuuka showed the Penguin that water is not dengerous, waited a bit and when Penguin wanted to jump, was close to change its mind at last moment so she she pushed him with small force to give courage like in right moment but probably I just overthink it :V

I like that Fuuka was on tv this time around, it is better to just let your old fans know what you are doing now rather than just giving the sense that you are running away.

As much as I have loved for her to become an idol at the end of episode 12, it would obviously be hard to split the screentime between two main characters (Fuuka and Kukuru) at 2 different locations every episode.

Awww Fuuka, you are such a wonderful person.
helping your idol junior and the penguin hatchling.

I had wished for more explanation why she preferred the attendant job over being an idol, I can guess why, but that doesn't cut it in a satisfying way.

Giving the penguin a push was such a japanese parental thing, in the west people would say it's cruel, but giving the situation it was allright, the penguin can swim anyway. I just wondered why there was no underwater camera, so the documentary footage will be rather plain.

Kukuru should just talk to the real boss to give her a lower class job,
that is just awful with the vice director at her throat all the time.
That will probably be covered in the last arc.

Quite an emotional episode, seeing Fuuka interact with her kouhai Ruka-chan. Fuuka really is mature and feels like a dependable, wise older sister. Always so kind and thoughtful. And I agree with Ruka-chan. Dependable and mature Fuuka sitting there on the water's edge was really cool.

Not to mention, Fuuka is always beautiful!

I guess with this episode, not only did Fuuka give her kouhai some much needed motivation (and to my joy showing to her former manager that she's doing far more than just better here!) but she also completely put the past behind her, telling her kouhai that she doesn't need to work hard for her sake anymore. Just work hard for her own sake. And giving her those shoes, the shoes that Fuuka wanted to wear on stage. Fully passing on that dream to someone who still struggles for it.

As for Fuuka, she's truly found her place in life. The work she loves the most, something she can really enjoy and dedicated herself too.

Fuuka is so awesome! Love her so much. Probably my favourite character in the entire series. Can't wait to see more ^^

So Fuuka finally given up her old dream of becoming an idol, such a sad ending for her dream but I think she's happy now with her current one.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Man it was annoying as hell seeing the subtitles keep calling the penguin baby a "they". It's a goddamn penguin, not some alphabet person. Just call it an it or a he, like people have for centuries if you aren't sure of an animal's sex.

Anyway, glad Fuuka freed her kohai from the responsibility of living her dream as well. She has suffered enough for stealing her career.
And I wish she hadn't pushed the penguin. Instead of the usual "encouraging nudge" anime characters do, she literally shoved it into the water. It didn't look like it went in on its own after mustering courage. Poor penguin never got his proper epic shounen moment to shine.

Overall, it was being a somewhat decent episode until the writing said "f*ck it" and made Fuuka push the baby penguin into the water, ignoring in the process all the message about encouragement the episode was trying to sell you.

I very much enjoy the Fuuka-focused ep this time after a while being with Kukuru. Again, a huge development for her, completely moving on from being an idol and finding resolve with Ruka. Fuuka being all serious to stop Ruka from mentioning how she took her place in the group is kinda hot lmao. Fuuka casually pushes the penguin when i thought that it would jump into the pool by itself is funny lol, she's tired of the penguin hesitating from going into the pool
