good thing Tingarla doesn't have any discrimination towards single parents...

Wow this episode was really good....I never knew Chiyu had a child...It was must have been hard managing both family and work anyways I'm glad she and Kukuru got along....at least a little :)

That penguin birth was beautiful too....A happy ending I'd say :D

Chiyu story now explored.. taking care of a kid while working is indeed hard..

looking at the work schedule, even Garandou stays overnight twice a week, it's really a special treatment that Chiyu is receiving, since she always goes home early.

Really unfair, Fuuka should have only two overnight, not three. damn..

Yeah...I still despise Chiyu and everything about her with every fibre of my being.

Typical person/character who doesn't tell anyone anything ever for no good reason and just acts like a haughty and arrogant ass, then is shocked, appalled, furious, and acts like the victim when other people act in ways they do not want (Kukuru subbing for her shift) based on information they could not possibly have because they deliberately went out of their way not to tell them.

Honestly and truly, fuck her and all characters and people like this.

Don't get me wrong - It's still a well-made episode of a series that's overall well-made as a whole - one which I'm enjoying for the most part, including this episode, since me liking or agreeing with the beliefs, attitudes, actions, and behavior of any character is never a prerequisite to wanting to see everything portrayed exactly how the show wants and chooses to depict it. But Chiyu and people like her represents pretty much everyone and everything I hate.

After seeing this... I came up with a very powerful theory when I saw this episode related to what happened in episode six... and it is... if the mysterious girl that Kukuru saw in that vision in the Gama Gama... not herself in the future or her unborn twin sister... but her own future daughter?

Good episode

While the story had some flaws, the overall message of this episode was good and well done. The theme of having kids, tied into the penguin giving birth was well written.

Perhaps, this episode can shed some light on the poor working conditions single mothers have to deal with in Japan.

Now that Kukuru/Chiya drama is kind of resolved, it'll be interesting to see what other kind of drama will be coming next.

I like Kukuru, but she irritates me sometimes and in this episode she irritated me again. She is very immature and self-centered. Chiya never irritated me. I like her from the beginning, and after this episode I like her even more. Her and Fuuka are my favorites characters from this anime.

my level of dislike on Chiyu is probably not the same as yours, but this episode also rubbed me the wrong way. I work at the office 7 days a week, mon-sat (8:30-5 pm), Sun (8:30-1 pm) - and the Sunday feels so much less fatigue than mon-sat.... so I know looking at the work schedules on the show.. Chiyu's 6 days early going home + 1 day off is heaven compared to Fuuka's 3 overnight (this is terrible, have a friend who works overnight at a call center, and she wasn't able to last long), 2 day off, 1 late, and 1 early go home. Fuuka's schedule is hell. The writer clearly likes single moms... yeah, I agree it's hard being a single mom as depicted on this show, and her kid is cute... however, Chiyu's former workmates are being portrayed as "cold" and heartless people.. WTF.. feels like the writer not understand that extra work being piled onto others, because the single mom always goes home early is also an injustice. Extra work means the fatigue eventually piles up and causes a person to be stressed, irritable, and less productive.

Chiyu being a single mother was quite unexpected since she's quite young. So, I can understand why she wanted to hide the fact that she has a child. Since Chiyu's young I thought some kinda bf stuff happened like her bf left her after getting her pregnant and all but it seems like she actually got married early.

When it was revealed Chiyu is a parent I instantly remembered that scene when Chiyu immaturely teased Gama Gama like “BOO 😝”

Also honestly I didn't understand why Chiyu got so angry at Kukuru for the shift thing. She even went as far as saying that Kukuru is trying to snatch her job. That really didn't make sense. It's not like they're firing her.

It's good that Kukuru feels bad about how she behaved so rudely with Chiyu. And now wants to understand her. But I personally didn't really like her idea that ‘one needs to experience the same thing to understand someone’ It's Kukuru's way of doing things so I won't say anything.

Fuuka seems the most mature one out of them. I loved how she dealt with this situation.

Anyway, I like how this anime is making some characters realistically annoying. Even a character you like acts like shit in some cases. This anime is doing a good job with the character development.

I get that it must be a hard life for Chiyu, but that doesn't excuse how she treats people at all. Had she been more open and understanding with her coworkers and management things would of gone better.

I still don't like Chiyu, but I can at least see where she was coming from. Hopefully she learns from Kukuru and Fuuka.

Also, the character development from Kukuru though a bit funny was really great this episode.

Wait what, so Chiyu had a kid all this time? o.O

Meh, I still don't like her. I understand how hard is her situation and where her attitude comes from but that doesn't excuse her from having such an attitude with the people from Gama Gama and especially Kukuru. I don't know, I don't think it's right to vent your personal frustrations with a teenager and less so when you're so closed to the other party finding out what's going on with you and why you have that attitude in the first place.

Of course that is not to say that Kukuru is not at fault too. Her covering Chiyu's shift was fine because they needed help with that anyway but it's another thing to go complaining to her about not taking the overnight shifts when you don't know anything about why she can't do it in

Finally, quite weird how after all this time we went from Tingaara to Tingarla huh.

oh god that scary woman has a child! yeah well I can't hate Chiyu as I did before.
Maybe since the truth is out now she won't be the all time jerk from before.
with Gama Gama gone, she should not cling to her early antipathy anymore.

Kukuru can take care of fish, but a baby is crying in her presence for two hours nonstop ahaha.

Fuuka is such a Saint, always doing the right thing and looking gorgeous while doing so :)

Damn, I didnt like Chiyu since her introduction and I still dont like her a bit, even more now that she's in charge of a child, sweet lord, its sad to become a parent at such age, but I can understand her character more now.

Now where is this show going to... what will be the drama route about?

Wow I didn’t expect the series to explain well the reason behind Chiyu’s attitude and why she’s such a killjoy. They did a good job of making me sympathize with her. I can relate to her. Although I don’t agree about her logic of hiding her circumstances would keep her from getting fired though. If people don’t know about her child, it would give people more reason to think that she is just irresponsible and put her to risk of getting fired.

Probably because of what she went through, remember in her previous job, everyone was understanding but later on everyone started to see her being irresponsible until she got fired. She just don’t want to be seen irresponsible again. She did admit before in earlier episode that she’s a desperate person which we didn’t know until now. She’s desperate to keep her job.

While I may not have same problem of raising a child like chiyu but there was time that I have many problems and things in life be at work and then the problems waiting for you at home and I feel like it’s endless. Trust me, stress can truly affect your attitude towards everyone, the feeling of pressure crushing you, the feeling of panicking inside you, I’ve been there before. I know the feeling. There was a period that made me really irritant towards everyone, frustrated and angry all the time. Chiyu’s attitude was better than mine, atleast she’s still talks to other people or friends that she gets along with but as for me I even don’t want basically everyone talking to me or otherwise I’ll end up arguing with them but then again I’m a bit depressed at the time.

Kinda ironic though I admit that I used to hate her killjoy personality and why she is such a jerk towards Kukuru not knowing her behaviour was actually similar to mine. I probably read her character too much but I have a very deep view of what her behaviour is basing on what I went through.

This was really good. It's nice to see some deeper content sometimes, like a single mom raising her little child alone while also working full-time. It must be so difficult to do that, especially if the work-place is not supportive towards women with children. There are so many times in real life that firing women happen if they dare to have a baby and not solely focus on career. But at least Haebaru-san is not all alone. :)

I thought that since we were shown her baby, it would be withheld from the main characters until much later in the story, and this would simply be used to recontextualise her behaviour up till now. But instead not only is it revealed, but Chiyu isn't even present when it's being revealed to the characters. We don't even have the benefit of finding out at the same time as the main cast and so sharing in their surprise and guilt. There's absolutely no drama in this reveal whatsoever it was handled so insanely poorly.
This show seems to go out of its way to de-escalate drama and tension. This arc could have built up to be a massive confrontation between Kukuru and Chiyu where they both released all their pent up anger and resolved the situation. Instead it's a guilt trip that occurred when the two aforementioned characters were separated.
Remember this attitude difference has been constant since the two first met. For over half the show that's currently aired these two have not got along and it's been slowly escalating ever since the timeskip. Why would you sacrifice so many episodes of buildup for such a shitty resolution?

tingaara changing name...
Company should never expect overnight shift, people got lives, unless was in their contract. And they better pay OT.
Kukuru lol wants a baby, go ask Kai.
Parenting for Vet & Chiyu challenging. But having kid is no free pass for being an antisocial scumbag. Chiyu at work shows none of the patience & understanding that mothers tend to develop.

I knew Chiyu had some sort of circumstance but wasn't expecting her to have a child. No wonder she was desperate and was on edge at times. I feel really bad for disliking her at the begining now. She's a wonderful woman, not only taking care of her child but she even persued her dream. I'm glad the misunderstanding surrounding her is finally over and she grew closer to everyone else. Also it's great to see Takeshita sensei back and Kukuru trying to take care of her son was amusing. The baby penguin being born was a wonderful moment, it's always amazing when a new life is born.

i definitely like chiyu more after this episode. she has a very relatable struggle that i empathize with. even if you still don't like her attitude, gotta respect her still. we all have those coworkers we might not like, but they are still human beings trying to live out this world.

I never disliked Chiyu. If anything, Kukuru is too idealistic. Chiyu is right about Kukuru. She’s so naive......not everything resolves around a job or her expectations, people have difficulties and other priorities. She was so rude & ignorant, but I’m glad she learnt from it.

Fuuka is so sweet & kind♡

Shizuku is so cute!!!!! And their director was so kind too. Chiyu is lucky & now knows that her workplace is so supportive :’)

but i’ll probably remember over and over again

I'm glad the two of them finally got over their differences, watching the two of them fighting verbally was intoxicating in a very depressing way.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Can't believe the doctor let her son became an experiment subject for immature Kukuru to learn how to be a mom. That said, good thing it was only for two hours but I also doubt you can learn something meaningful in so little time.

So that was it, huh? Yeah... no, I still dislike Chiyu. She herself screwed her own career by WILLINGLY deciding to become a mother at young age and still had the nerve to get angry at teenagers for... not having experienced the shit she decided to put herself into? Like seriously, that's beyond being immature. That's nonsense.
Not to mention how the show portrayed Chiyu's former co-workers as cold-hearted assholes when they had all the right to act distant towards the person who keep piling work and work onto them. Ridiculous.

I'm really glad to see the Chiyu's family background as to why she acts like that in the first place. The fact that she had to take care of her child and working as a single mother must be hard for her... I just hope Chiyu and Kukuru can understand each other more into this series. Her attitude also need to change. A really great episode
