Apparently Kadokawa, the publisher, got permission from all the LN authors the mangaka was gonna parody. So there was no legal cause for cancellation. It was fan outrage that killed it, and to be fair it literally started off with a rape revenge plot. But then again, we literally only had one chapter and cant really tell how the story would have continued. |

A doubt it was cancelled for that, it would probably be more accurate to say cancelled because it isn't very popular (and one of the reasons it's not popular is because of similarities) |

I totally believe this because I don't think Kadokawa would publish it if they did not have legal permission I just don't know why people are getting so angry about it. It is obviously a parody It could be because it starts off with someone getting raped but redo of a healer didn't get cancelled so I don't think that was it. |

There's a big difference between playful, teasing parody and mean-spirited parody. This just a revenge fantasy Isekai but the hook this time is that it have other mc from popular series and now they all evil to justify mc doing horrible thing to them. For example Bakarina is a kind girl one of my favorite characters and the idea of someone writing a story where she is portrayed like a psicopath just to kill is gross. |

You can easily tell authors intentions. Also there's quality and idea that are also important. I don't mind a series that mocks something I like, if it itself is good and well-though piece of fiction. Cheat Slayer wasn't any of that. It simply meant to be edgy and controversial. While the premise of defeating OP characters from another universes could be fun, it should be really well thought to pull it off in satysfying way to readers who recognize these characters. And this title certainly lacked that. |

I don’t see why they cancelled this It’s a parody and Japan made a lot of parody before Beside they are not using the same name so why get mad for a character that isn’t the character you love in their “respectful” series This is not plagiarism if the other authors agreed with it It’s like the those doujinshi, web comics, and fan fiction stuff it’s just they are not getting paid unless they make a patreon for it. |

Here the reason why this series is bad 1. It basically just another edgy revenger Isekai when you strip all the stuffs it take from other series. 2. It done nothing with the character it "borrow" beside making them evil which make it fanfic tier. This is a story about the author OC killing other more successful series MC. 3. The roster make no sense because the author just picked the popular one while disregard if they even share a similar tone or not. Here the reason why the publisher canned it: 1. People don't like it: If no one like a product it not gonna sell. 2. No, many authors didn't know about this until after chapter 1 release. Some were okay with it but would refer if the author told them before hand (they are his co-worker). Plus the publisher didn't own all the series, only 5 out of 8. 3. The parody argument wouldn't work because most parody copied the archetype, not the character (Ainz is the same but with a deer skull instead) or make short reference, not making them the main antagonists of your entire series. 4. Don't blame fan, people point out the issue with the series and the editorial department look into it and decided it not worth the potential lawsuit for defame. In the end it the company decision. If a company cancel a series just because fan outrage there would be more cancel series like this. Fun fact: The author did make an isekai before this and it got cancelled too so it make him look like he was bitter and want to take his anger out on other more popular series. |

SirTristam said: Woke media, wut did you expect Even authors are becoming woke. Gintamq does this every time and gets away LOLWHUT. Not everything is part of a cringey "culture war", which mostly only exists in the mind of you americans. Stop watching grifters like Hero Hei and Rev Says Desu, it's brainworms. Euthanasia96 said: This could have been The Boyz: Isekai edition but we can't have nice things. Nah, the Boys is kinda good, this one had a nice crossover premisse, but shat the bed very fast. Butcher and Hughie are half of the fun in that show. Here we have: -MC actually does look like your average isekai protag, generic looks for you to self insert easily. Is a farm boy, lost everything. Is mad. The End. -Witch (which, I am going to wild guess, is a discount!Azusa from Slime Taoshite) is sexy in body and skimpy in clothes, being as such waifuable (even if she seems to have some edgy screws loose), instead of creepy and/or cryptic. Some ther probs, from chap 1 alone: -Was not enough to just burn the village and kill everyone the MC knew? It should. But no, let's have discount!Shin/Rudeus RAPE THE CORPSE of MCs childhood friend in front of him for the sake of le eeeedge. Also, to establish those guys as sociopathic incorrigible from the very start in the easiest way possible. -Why is the waitress from Isekai Shokudou and Bakarina there? They have actual no cheats, and their isekai shows are not even generic game action power trips, just slicey-of-life feels-good-types. Not ot mention that OG Ainz and OG Tanya ARE ALREADY EVIL and doing genocidal war crimes in their canon. Where's the "twist" wit those ones? Fire-Aqua (Flare) is based on a char of a show who is already a comical deconstruction of isekai. Would make more sense to stack the Best 9 with gamesque-harem types of isekai, like Kirito (done there), Shin/Rudeus (also there, mixed with one another), Naofumi, guy from that Smartphone crap, guy from Garbage Hero, guy from Death March, Diablo, etc,etc |

So the work had characters that very closely resembled char from other popular shows? And it wanted to make fun and insult them? Plus it had a simple and stupid premise? So it was a parody. Like Space Balls or Meet the Spartans. I hope this info spreads across the western hemisphere. Maybe those shows get forbidden too. You know what, let's forbid parodies all together. I mean, at this day and age, you cannot make fun of anyone. Not of blonds, jews, blacks, nazi... The last group that remained was white straight men. Now they cannot be made fun of either. I guess that's fair. |

Being a parody is one thing but it felt very distasteful, rather than picking apart the character and making fun of them or twisting their actions they just had the first villain be a rapist. Didn't exactly come across as funny. |

ANN said it best in their talk about it from other authors who talked about said manga. Especially where you try to force someone else's character as someone else. Weebookey said: lmao wut... "Discontinued due to similarities of the main characters with other notable characters from various series." How was this given the green-light to get published if this were its fate after 1 chapters..? So confusing Apparently it was more the changing personalities of borrowed characters from what it sounds like because authors borrow characters all the time as cameos. "Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler writer Homura Kawamoto’s new isekai manga Killing the People Reincarnated into the Other World -Cheat Slayer- was cancelled after one chapter because editors thought the way some characters looked like other creators’ isekai characters could be seen as “intentionally denigrating particular works.” Homura Kawamoto responded by putting out this apology: “I deeply apologize for all the pain, concerns, and fuss I have caused to everyone related to this incident. I created a work that was lacking in due consideration, and I am ashamed to have caused an incident like this. Going forward, my shame about my actions will encourage me to create better works. I am deeply sorry.” Rifujin na Magonote, the author of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation (one of the isekai spoofed), criticized the manga by saying: “‘Making the so-called isekai cheat protagonists the villains and making them do vile things’ ←Not a problem ‘Making characters appear who are recognizably borrowed from characters from other works’ ←I’m not going to say it’s not a problem, but it’s not a huge problem ‘Making characters appear who are recognizably borrowed from characters from other works, and then turning them into villains and making them do vile things’ ←This is crossing the line” That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime was another series spoofed in the cancelled work, and its author Fuse said this on his blog: “I have received an apology from the Dragon Age editorial department. For an author, the character’s image is important, so I request that if you do a parody, you do not overdo it.”" -Source: ANN |

And the author already has another series coming out. Thankfully it looks more light hearted and in the author's specialty: gambling. I think after this he'll have at least three or four ongoing gambling manga. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2021-07-19/kakegurui-homura-kawamoto-launches-new-manga/.175331 In total that's Kakegurui, Kakegurui Twin, Majo Taisen: 32-nin no Isai no Majo wa Koroshiau, Greatest M: Ijin Mahjong Taisen and now Isekai no Hime to no Koi Bakuchi ni, Jinrui no Sonbо̄ ga Kakkatemasu. I know he doesn't do the art, but that's still like 5 ongoing series at a time. He's also the creator of two upcoming original shows, High Card and Build Dive: Code Black. Where this man finds the time to do all of these is a mystery. |
