I like the sub better because mob voice in dub sounds bad

I watched Dub and it was a pretty good experience.
In my opinion it'll not matter if you watched either of those.

ive seen the sub but ive seen bits and pieces of the dub and from what i can tell its pretty good, esp. reigen's voice

Idk how it looks like in English, but the German dub is freaking good. But the sub is also 👌🏻

I watched both and love both. I don’t think either is better than the other but I feel like each of the two main characters (mob and Reigen) is respectively better in one side. I think reigen has a better dub and mob has a better sub

OFC DUBBED , i haven't watched sub so I'm not gonna say anything bad about it but dub is just greattttt, also REIGEN in dub is on GOD TIER

When it comes to any form of media watching something that has been dubbed over is different from the original and naturally just not as good, just as I would not watch Japanese dubbed Spongebob I would not watch dubbed anime.

english dub is not bad and there are some real standout voices (honestly, i watch for reigen's voice. it's perfect. i also prefer ritsu's VA in english to his japanese VA--a more distinctive-sounding voice and better acted overall). but the niggling issues i have with it:

mispronounced japanese names. there is no excuse for this anymore, guys. jeez.
mob's VA. he sounds like a believable 14-year-old at least, but i don't love his acting choices here. i get forrest gump vibes off of him, and his acting during mob's 100% explosions is often cringy. since we hear his voice for more than half the show's runtime...i can't. mob's VA in japanese spoiled me -- that guy is a relative newcomer to voice acting, but he nails every aspect of mob's character. at times, he makes the kid sound deeply unsettling. my stomach fell out of my body the first time i heard him at 100% animosity. holy fuck.
dimple's/the narrator's VA. i just don't like the timbre of his voice. he sounds like a sleazy talk show host. that...kinda works for dimple, but not the narrator.

are distracting enough for me to prefer the sub.

tbh can't agree, unless you can understand the language it was originally in then it's fine to watch in dub. I'd argue being to understand and hear the dialogue comes off stronger than reading it especially in shows. Just an opinion tho

I found the original dub of anime so compelling that I learned to understand Japanese and I must say you lose a lot of meaning in the redubbs... it's pretty bad ngl

i like the dubbed version the most because reigens va played the role perfectly lol, there are some cringe-worthy moments in the dub but you always experience a few in any dub

disney gets really good character actors to dub studio ghibli anime in english, and their dubs are peerless. cowboy bebop's english dub is amazing; NGE has now had two really good english dubs; gurren lagann had a very good english dub...there were even amazing dubs back in the 90s. teknoman/tekkaman blade had a surprisingly great english dub for its time. i could keep going...

and if you've ever seen dead leaves (the debut of hiroyuki imaishi, the guy behind kill la kill and gurren lagann) the english dub is actually far better than the original japanese.

i can understand people who complain about subtitles being distracting preferring dubs, but the other way round with no actual dub-watching experience?
