Fine episode, solid reveals and twists. Lots of plot conveniences, lackluster visuals though.

I was thinking in my head, "I wish they'd just team up with Eren" and then boom, it happened, all was forgotten and the alliance with him was formed. Now of course had they realized they had no time to just hold him prisoner perhaps this all could of been avoided. I'm sure there will of course be more repercussions from this but it's pretty funny when all this tension and buildup pays off in the form of the death and formation of the "jaegerists" only for it to be quickly brushed off.

The structure of power is a bit of a mess in this show, mostly in that it seems to random. The specifics of their government would be nice to know, because the military seems to have incredible power and the queen almost seems like an after thought.

And finally it's all coming into place...

On another note, Pixis sounds like the late Stan Lee

So Eren's just gonna do his own thing now huh?? Another one of those "I don't want to get you involved any further"? Or could memories be affecting him after all. It's truly tragic the military turned into what they fought previously.

the first infiltrators have re-infiltrated the infiltrators who infiltrated them

I was wrong about Hizuru, their nation of course still wants Paradis' vast reserves of iceburst, but will not proceed with their assistance of strengthening Paradis' military until the rumbling is executed. They need security, after all, while they mine for iceburst as well as helping Paradis catch up to the rest of the world on a technological level.

Paradis is in precarious situation in itself. It was Historia's will to no longer deceive the people and to share the information to everyone regarding the outside world, but a bit too much information has caused them to bite back. Because now it seems like a good deal of the common folk, as well as these newfound "jaegerists" are blindly supporting Eren in activating the rumbling to crush their enemies and protect their island. All while the military is trying to play it as safe as possible, considering every option, and getting to the bottom of Eren, Zeke, and Yelena's true intentions. I wonder why Eren chose this particular time to escape when he states he could've escape at any time though. Maybe the Jaegerists weren't fully prepared and in place yet. Speaking of, Hange suspects Yelena even more due to realizing that she has placed volunteers in various places, such as restaurants. Are ALL the volunteers under Yelena's control? Man I forgot exactly, but I hope Onyonkapon's chill.

Yelena's plan and goal is to get Eren and Zeke to make contact, to have hopefully gained enough trust from the military of paradis to convince them to allow them to do so, and if she fails (which has happened), to ensure a back up plan is in place to get them to meet nonetheless.

The show is definitely coming to a climax, however, it feels rushed. I wish there were more back stories, like for example, Onyakopon and Yelena's history. Also, why has Zeke all of a sudden switched teams? The death of Zachary was just not necessary, in my opinion. Hope to see the Eldians win.

Can't believe Zeke betrayed both Pieck and Reiner, and he lured people like Yelena, Onyankopon to please Hanji's group and brainwash Eren, if that's the case, Zeke could become the great main villain.
The fact that Magath hastily concluded that Zeke betrayed him just because he couldn't see his body is a bit forced, what if Paradis was going to kidnap Zeke like Annie? There must be more convincing evidence.
Let's start this ep.
Since when did Armin become a fan of Annie lol Hard to judge Armin, a young girl frozen in a diamond block is always an image that evokes many artistic inspirations
Oh hi Hitch, she changed her haircut
So everyone will age 5 years, and Annie will stay 15
Really, when did Armin start liking Annie ^^
You know what I'm most worried about? Eren went crazy and transformed into the War Hammer titan and ate Annie.
Yelena and my man Pixis, she's really tall.
Wow interesting reaction from Yelena
Again I want to say, I miss the faces that WIT studio makes, I mean old characters.
Oh sh, is Hanji extra again? Hanji she's so good!
I knew right away that with that face, Yelena was hardly a good person.
Wow so deep story
What? Bomb explosion. What just happened? Run Mikasa, Armin!
Zackly was assassinated wtf
What happened to those protesters? Just had an explosion yo?
Eren! It was Zackly who put you in Survey corps, don't you remember?
Overthrow the government! Where's the Reiss house!?
This key change ep is at another level!
Yea Pixis and everyone keep arguing, lady Kiyomi heard it all.
Damn, Pieck. No comments!
This ep deserves a Golden Globe. Great, excellent, wonderfull!

AoT would predictably have a tragic ending. I'll wager, Eren would be perished in the end.

She got him back. If you understand the characters well enough, you'd know she did!

Now I understand why Pixis decided to imprison the Volunteer Corps. I thought Paradis was taking drastic measures and turning against their allies, which was questionable.
Is Zeke manipulating Eren? Is his goal the same as the restorationist's? Did he betray Grisha so he could cement his position within Marley? That way, he can plan for this ultimate plan of restoring the Eldian Empire to power. If that's the case, he's clever.
Pixis made the right decision. There's no time for civil war when far stronger enemies surround them.
Were the Marleyans able to infiltrate Paradis already? That was fast.

Bro there really is no good ending here huh? The Jaegerists are going to destroy everything and probably just bring their own downfall, the military don't have a plan, and the Marleyans are already inside the walls. This can't end well

Based on what I've seen so far in this season, the new Eldian military was so greedy and desperate to cling to whatever perceived semblance of power they had that they decided to lock their greatest asset up and then attempt to kill him despite popular opposition from the people, and as a result left him with literally no option but to turn against them with the forward thinking members of the military following suit.
Eren's faction tried reasoning with them, got locked up for revealing what was going on to the people. They tried peaceful protests which were completely ignored. They are living in a military dictatorship so it's not like they had any means to try and vote Zackley out. Add to that the urgency of the military deciding to have Eren executed and what the fuck did you expect?
Coup completely justified. Yeagerist faction all the way. Only thing I wish is that Mikasa was right there with him instead of these weird shocked faces when she knows these fucks were literally about to KILL him.

Thank you! I was going through the comments for someone stating the obvious at last!
Some of them may have been doing it due to fear, or causion wanting someone easy to control taking Eren's place.

But like, really. What DID they expect would happen? And I really really can't understand why his friends are not getting this much at least either.

@rakoun17  Yes I'm sure they were afraid of Eren which made them think even more irrationally and think they should kill him asap while he's still their prisoner and they have the perceived power in the situation. But of course as he told Hange during that one scene, he was staying in prison willingly and could escape at any time.
Actually similar to the bigger situation of Marley deciding to attack Paradis while they think they have more power but that just prompted the rumbling.

And I hate how the Mikasa/Connie group was all: "Whaaat? How could they kill Zackly? But he was such a nice guy. He was basically Dumbledore with his big gray beard trying to help people!" when the guy was actually a military dictator using Historia as a puppet monarch while he was actually running things. He had no legitimacy to rule, he was not listening to the people, he was not even making good decisions to sorta justify being in power. And he was lying to Armin and Mikasa's faces while plotting to kill Eren in secret. Zackly was playing a purely "might makes right" game and he fucking lost it. Same with Pixis and the rest of the military higher ups.

I'm confused. I don't know if I agree with Eren. Like, I think he's right, but he use some bad methods.

What a coincidence. Everyone is going to the restaurant, where Gabi and Falco are visiting.

This is so tragic. This is such a mess. Why is Eren acting on his own? Does he not care about his friends anymore? I want to say enough AOT for today but the story is so captivating and binge-able so I’ll take a few hours’ break and get back to this tragic piece of work

Very good episode, it seems that the country (paradis island) is divided by those who support Eren and those who do not, in the end Jelena did have contact with Eren...what would they have talked about? NT for Armin who keeps trying to talk and it seems that even though Hizuru is interested in resources, they also care about Mikasa. It seems that Marley's soldiers are already on the island

Great episode, can’t wait for next week
- Wow, Zachary was blown in half… by his special chair
- it was nice to see Hitch again!
- That jacket scene with Eren ;)
- The Yeagerists want to unite Eren and Zeke, and reform the military. Interesting

Bit of a mess. I hadn't seen the trailer so I had no notion about the (apparently famous) jacket scene. I'm glad I wasn't waiting for it!

A bomb goes off and the crowd doesn't bat an eyelid? I don't think so.

Eren is being a dick, and so are a lot of other people. For something that's taken 70+ episodes to get here it suddenly seems very rushed.

Finally: I have no memory of anyone explaining "the rumbling" at any point.

A bit of a mess. 3/5

that was the quadriped at the end reading the paper? so they've infiltrated the island...

this whole eren mutiny is weird. i hope there is a purpose to it, and not just him being his regular stupid self and coerced by his beast titan half brother

aside from that, hanje is kind of losing control of things, and the military is becoming kind of authoritarian...

they're going to the restaurant to see why all the marley people were placed into random jobs like that... at the same time sasha's dad and the orphan children AND the 2 escaped marley titan candidate children are going there to eat that marley chef's food that sasha loved eating so much. SPEAKING OF WHICH, WHY DID NOBODY MENTION THE 2 CHILDREN HAVE ESCAPED YET? BEEN 2 EPISODES NOW?!
