----------------------------------------
Finally, Innumael's group meets up with the Holy Knights Captain Georg, and Leo with Schaake's mother Minerva, with another of the secret tryst of the Imperial Empire about some ancient "Light of Calamity" befalling once again. Talk about an inconvienent prophecy with a stone tablet foreseeing the inevitable future.

Quite a big project to prepare for this colossial move: the Empire/Diet, the Cradle, and a lightning rod to decrease the severity of this "Luminous Seed". Maybe TOO LARGE, that's why the internal friction between the Diet and the Imperial Empire exists in the 1st place, and thereforth exists the group of the radical Anti-Imperalist rebels for treason.

Innumael has come this far to back down now: a former branded traitor, and one affected by luminosis. They have to succeed in this, or the whole plan will be at stake.

Leo is still the gullible character of use to former criminals (Damian), I'd say he's even more naive than Immumael. Captain Hermann returning as a Luminosis monster and thwarting the escape plan of both escapees, at least Damian went out with an "honourable" spirit. The Imperial Emperor's newborn, I did remember that it could be a perfect specimen for the Luminosis experiment, but inserting that into that plothole seems too late.

A lot to unpack as usual, but this is as close to a final sewing of past circumstances leading to the final stretch. YEET.

Damn, with how everything is now unfolding and connecting. It's so intense, and once again, I'm left wanting the next episode to come already lol. Really love this series.

Innumael is such a good dude, even if he was forced into this situation, he's grown so much and I hope he lives by the end of it.

Oof, I thought Hermann was dead, but jfc. Well hopefully he's done for now.

Weird case, but why do you think Diet Member (that girl's mom) had to play the secret agent herself?

Lots of infodumps and some serious dialogues this episodes, can't catch up to all of them but I get the idea of the things happening that led up to this point. So because of a vague prophecy, they made a new capital (ok). Jade is the traitor to the Headkeepers (...alright). Elfriede is actually a spy of the Count (ooh alright). And Schaake's mother, Minerva, is imprisoned because she knew some of the Anti-Imperial faction secrets (yeah yeah I'm following).

Lots of infodumps and I mean...it's time for me to rest but this episode confused the heck out of me. What I did get is Damian & Leo's escape from the underground prison. Damian seems to just use Leo because he's too much of a liability for him to escape the rotten bars. Lucky for Leo though that Damian threw the firecracker that opened up a hole, which he used to escape. Unfortunately, Damian needs to fight and die from Captain Helman's monster form (wow keeping him alive I see).

The Headkeepers are hired by the Count to uncover Mary Bult's treason to the King. And Leo escapes the prison and is finding a way out. I hope this goes on for 2-cour but it seems the pacing picked up real fast these past weeks that it's going to end with 12 episodes.

An interesting episode today with a lot of lore dump which I really enjoyed. I always enjoyed how the series didn't give much exposition because it puts us into the shoes of the members of the Headkeeper that has been as clueless as us and used as pawns by Jade in this three/two party struggle at the moment. So, the moment we get an exposition is when we finally meet someone who knows something which is kinda realistic in a way.

So yeah, it went from Headkeeper against the Empire to basically anti-Imperialists against the Empire at the moment. I didn't see it coming exactly, but I kind of knew that there was something fishy about the whole ordeal and it feels like we have set up the final antagonist to be Jade and his little gang for now.

So Hermann survives, it's a small surprise but well, he didn't do much harm at the end. His aggression is relentless for sure but 2v1 and a train? He had no chance. I thought the animation of the fight was kinda interesting, a bit wonky but it didn't feel bad, I thought it was very different.

Inu getting Luminosis was done really well, I felt his pain as well, he really was an innocent bystander in all this at the beginning but man he's grown up since then. And Schaake seems to have been drawn extra cute this episode, love her.

Gosh, what a severely underrated show for this season!

First we find out Damian is still alive (I always wondered if he died a while back when we saw him in the torture room), and now we see that Helman has survived via luminosis transformation.

I'm wonder why Damian decided to sacrifice himself to kill uber-Helman. Did he have a change of heart (and perhaps wanted to return the favor) when Leocadio appeared out of nowhere and saved him?

Ultimately I feel kinda bad for Damian. He was probably abandoned (and long forgotten) by his Headkeeper "comrades", only to get brutally tortured by Helman. This is shaping up to be my favorite anime of the season!

Interesting question but I don't think her role was that of a secret agent, she was probably tasked by the emperor like the other knight guy.
And regarding the incident that we saw in the flashback: that mess happened in her domain so when she immediately went to investigate with her attendant she got caught by the anti-imperialists.

Its looks like every puzzle finally merged into one piece. The anti-imperialist, eh? And its led by one and only mastermind Diet, that Mary Bult and her son, Radboud. Okay. What a name to be left off as the last enemy of their journey to prevented the cataclysmic light to harm the humanity, once again.

So, actually the Empiror knew the future event by the prophecy which was embedded at the Garner Tablet's body of information. In preparation, he already arranged the Strahl Plan into action, spreaded into three separated prongs; built a new capital, Fiktion; the constructions of the Cradle, barrier in order to seal off the light along with the capital itself; then the last one, to used a light-inducing device known as Luminous Seed in order to break up the light's power.

The last one caused a trouble. Because some of the greedy peoples want to owned it for their own interest: Anti-imperialist party formed. Thats the reason of why Minerva imprisoned, she got caught off as she trying to seek the evidence. Pity you, madam. So, thats the HK betrayal, eh? Jade, that Gutheil HK's person in charge. Thats why, he wanted that lot of tube thing as the package. Its contained his orders! A reproduction of Luminous Seed! And thats why they were in trap at the capital incident. He sold them to the Diet!

Okay. Case closed. The real enemies already revealed. Inumael situations looked very hard, but he decided a nice decision: to always be involved. So, at the end, the gangs decided to take the action separately. Schaake back to Gutheil in order to get more information from her father. Then Inumael, always close to the danger by seeing the evidence near the capital. Could he do that?

The last part where Leo took a lot of effort to escape. He even got a nice reencounters from his ex commander. So, i shall take it short already, because ofc Leo would be survived. Hello, Herman, and, good bye! At least those HK survivor already found his way to revenged. Rip. And onward to the next episode!

woah so now a "new" faction is introduced, one who's not either the HK or the army, guessing those guys are the true bad guys of the series. And I guess now we have a clear idea of what direction the story is heading

and ngl, I thought the Benjamen dude was the traitor but surprised to see it was the leader dude from way back. Also interesting how the story is still separating Leo and Inumael's paths, thought they would've joined together by now

but the signs aren't looking good for Inumael and the other army dude. why it gotta be the two best characters lol. Just when their ships also started to have some development smh

monster commander looks kinda creepy ngl

one of those episodes of unraveling maaaany plot's misteries with a talk by candlelight (lots of candles lol)

it could’ve been a Holy Knight's Commander monologue (except for the Headkeeper's kind of silly rhetorical questions) so luckily it was interspersed with the story that Schaake's mom tells to Leo at the prision and made the scene more pleasant. also Helman coming back from the dead over and over was maddening, but worth it to confirm monsters' strength.

i think Inumaru's improved and he's no longer a simple egocentric who goes with the flow yet thinks about his team partners. BUT i still find him insufferable and it seems awkward to me that if he's one of the most recent members of the organization (sometimes he doesn't even name part of them) monopolizes or guides important conversations. understand it's MC convenience but it doesn't feel natural to me u_u
Leo may be naive and gullible but the way he understand that not everything is how he knew and there's rotten things, it seems a more gradual and credible transformation. the rest of the characters have an interesting develop and dimensions. even SisselxConrad ship seems more organic than Innumael becoming reliable

oks. it's only 12 episodes, maybe i'm asking to much

I don't know if I am misunderstanding your question but If you're asking if it's a necessity for this prequel animation to establish magic as a power in the Magatsu's world then the answer is yes, just look at the main game.

Another great episode, I don't play mobile games but, the show is really doing a good job convincing me to play the game.

The pieces has been connected, as expected Mary Bult is the one using the headkeeper funds, though I don't remember any mention of Radboud being her son so that was a shock to me. Damn, Elfriede was basically a triple agent or something lmao. Rip to Damian he died getting his vengeance against monster hermann. Looking forward to the next episode, that baby will probably be important.

Should be at least 2 episodes left for 12 in total. 11 episodes would be far too unusual and I believe it's timeslot is filled till then at least. Wish this was two cour though, would be really nice having all this as just a set-up for the conflict with the main antagonists that just got revealed.

Huh, I sort of hated that. The exposition with a bunch of sudden terminology turning this from political plots to magic McGuffin search and an explicit bad guy faction really drove home the based on a videogame that had mostly been avoided. Too bad, I was really enjoying it up till here.

That was really confusing, I didn't understand most of it...

And this episode was really rushed.
So, why are they experimenting to make these monsters? Is there no cure for luminosis?

How did Leo survived these obstacles so easily...a normal person would be dead by now...

We still don't know why they are (the anti-imperialists?) creating human-monsters hybrids and if there's a real cure for luminosis.

That's a ton of plot & worldbuilding.
Tablet predicts future light apocalypse.
Emperor 3 prong safety plan: make new capital, Cradle to seal light, & Luminous Seeds as lightning rods to disperse light power.

Diet Mary anti-imperialist, son Radboud (new ceo for lab), diet Minerva imprisoned (Schaake's mom), Jade Headkeeper leader & anti-imperialist & traiter (!?), Elfried is spy for holynight Georg, & the canisters HK moved were the bad Seed copies. Man everything's connected now.

The one-eyed guy's actions captured my spirit. He had manipulated Leo many times, but unfortunately he wasn't the MC. lol. He probably knew he was seriously injured and could not be saved, so he died with the monster, but he still got revenge before he died. Although he was a selfish man, all he did make sense because of the brutal torture from Helman. Seeing Leo saving him without hesitation, he should have been touched and would take revenge and save others at the same time. Hope Leo can also grow up after such an experience.

To think the human Commander was already a psycho, glad to see him slaughtered as a monster in full glory. Quite the reveal with the ancient tablet and the true antagonists. Still curious to see what the reason for using the power of the Cold fire to mutate humans is.

this is kind of fun. i love this type of plot. there are a lot of "groups" and clandestine missions/projects. there are plot twists and/or reveals. i enjoy that

it *kind of* gives me Fairy Gone vibes. that supernatural, military-ish, mystery, fantasy. i know the MAL rating for Fairy Gone isn't great, but i enjoyed it, so idgaf haha

this show is actually making me interested in the game, to my surprise
