It's pretty much the anime equivalent of a generic action movie. For what it is its solid, it's like one of those cheesy so bad it's good 80's action movies.

This is so bad that it's actually quite amusing. Sosui gets his sword and starts killing like Gibia's are normal humans while the others struggle to kill them with guns. The sound effects are so lame lol. Also the end scene, hmmmm so some Gibia have their conciousness huh, interesting I suppose.

The CG reminds me of beast wars level of bad. It would look so much better without it. Its still a confused mess with wooden characters I care nothing about though.

For some reason, the CGI just reminds me of the Syfy channels CG incorporated into their own movies. Also, anyone care that the old man died? I did not really feel anything about his death, no attachment. And why the fuck does the girl expect a samurai of all people to kill the monsters. Thats like me getting excited for a knight, who just got sent through time, having the skills to battle against the zombies that are littered in the world.

This episode was slightly better than the first, but it still doesn't make any sense. I can't get past the fact how everyone just accepts the fact that two random dudes from the Edo period accidentally time-traveled to the current time. It just doesn't make sense. The plot is nonsensical, no suspense, very predictable. There is no attachment to the characters, the old man's death didn't move me at all (which says a lot because normally I'm a very emotional person), I've seen it coming from the moment he got out of the car. Also, why is it that Sensui is seemingly already whipped for that girl from the moment they met?
The CG is still horrible.
The only nice thing about this anime is the music (which is expected from something with Sugizo's name attached to it) but i feel like they are not using it well in the show.
Overall just very unimpressive, I can't take it seriously even though it tries to sell itself as a serious show (and that makes it even worse).
I guess I'll wait for another 1-2 episodes to see where this is going but I doubt it would worth it.

Seriously Crunchyroll went full retard with giving Gibiate extra money (CR Original). Terrible CGI, terrible animation - slideshow. Nippon Bansai Japanese sword cutting easily monsters that aren't affected by gunfire at all.
And Kathleen - in apocalypse time she bothers with fashionable belts and blue hairdye for samurais

Tbh, I've been interested in this bcz of the "concept" of this animu by reading the synopsis, so I decided to watch the first episode and I thought "hey it's not that bad. At least let's see 'till eps 3 like everyone do".

But when in the 2nd episode like, damn, it was like some shoujo animu under the guise of action martial arts animu... yes, just a damn vizard.. And the fighting scene was an ultimate bruh, ngl. As the action martial arts anime connoisseur, I felt disappointed.

And why did the old man maeda even exist in the first place? Just to suffer?

I know this is your first animu, but C' MON MAN!

I think it will be better if they add something like "aura", like you know, sword energy, on the sword

Don’t really get why this gets so much hate so far. I’m watching it bc I saw the final fantasy and resident evil dude worked on it but didn’t know what to expect. So far, I can tell they did no put nearly as much time or effort into animating the monsters as they did with the characters. But I don’t think that is a reason to dislike the anime. I feel like the monsters aren’t individually important so they just skimmed them.
I like the score very much however, it gives me that old Kung fu movie feel. I feel like it’s an old school anime done in modern time, except the monsters still old school lol

Maeda's death was so preventable if he just got someone to go with him in the morning to grab the sword.

Why am I still even watching this?

This anime is so bad! Hahaha, I'll watch a few more episodes, I'm thinking it MIGHT possibly be one of those shows that it's so bad it's actually good.

I don't feel sorry for Maeda, we didn't have enough time to know him to feel sorry. Desperately trying to tug on our emotional heart strings.

This anime is so stupidly comical. Everything is just so cringy, felt like I was watching some anime version of old cinema.

Why did that old man just stupidly stood there waiting to get stabbed by that creature, he could have just ran and gave that sword to Sensui. And for some reason Sensui's voice makes me laugh.

I'll still continue to watch it since it works as a weekly dose of laughter.

I guess, this anime falls in the "it's so bad that it's good" kinda category. You just want to see how absurd it could get.

By the way, am I the only one liking Kathleen's design? That's probably the only thing that isn't too terrible.

Another pretty good episode that was easy to understand. The desperate run out of the city is coming out. Too bad Maeda San bit the big one, but at least he delivered the sword.

umm...

But anyways, as incoherent as much of the criticism seems to be, there is definitely enough wrong with this show to reduce it to B-tier. But to me, honestly, the plot doesn't seem so illogical compared to most other anime, it just lacks the high-budget animation to make viewers ignore the stupidity. Personally, I'm somewhat interested in where they take the angle of a samurai finding out that his revered master is remembered in the history books as some loser who got beheaded. I don't expect much from this anime, but there are some fun angles to explore already if the writer is decently talented.

Fight scenes feel like they're stuck in the 1990s-early 2000s. And Maeda is awfully slow to move. That or they didn't execute his trip back to the camp very well.
There's no inherent right or wrong in this universe, but when we think with emotions rather than logic, we make things so.

I don't mind the cgi and animation style but the overall story, characters and presentation is just so very dry and stiff ...also kinda not buying this whole 'samurai and ninja' dudes coming to save the world setting(like modern day soldiers and weapons are basically shit lol), it's all just rather ridicules and way to dumb.
2/10 and dropped.

Just watched this one and considering dropping it already. The cgi is way too much and the action scenes were more like screenshots. Disappointed so far.

Also lots of dramatic sad scenes for a character that was barely in it.

Could be improved a lot by dropping the cgi and putting that budget towards better animated action scenes. Drop the trying to be cool stuff like the dyed hair and fashion accessory junk. Like why? (The whatshisname nInja looks terrible with blue hair. ) Could cut that scene entirely to give a bit more information about the characters.

Kenroku's hair in blue sorta makes him look like Cu Chulainn from Fate.

Wow I can count on my fingers how many frames it took to animate Maeda getting abducted. This spectacular animation deserves some rewards, I tell you. Also I still cannot get over this glasses dude's voice either. It's ear-wretching.

So far nothing I could see so bad of this anime, except the animation. Maybe I have pretty low standard, or I just liked apocalyptical anime in general. Poor Maeda for such a good man even if he's just exist for 2 episode, would've bern better if how he got cut down was showed. The last scene maybe showed the real villain here.
