THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Perhaps human feelings are one of the most complicated mysteries in this show. Either way, a lot of dialogues and character interactions between the main leads this episode.

Akutagawa Ryuunosuke is still the an engima imo for this show. There's just something so mysterious about him. Ideals also clash with this part 1 arc.

I love the interactions between Ango and Oda! They're my favourite characters in the series, I think. Really looking forward to No Longer Human as it's one of my all-time favourite novels (Taint!Akutagawa is wrong.) Having the next episode focused on the Buraiha gang will hopefully be really meaningful.

A good comeback after a hiatus due to the pandemic.

Ryuunosuke is still the mysterious character residing over all the other novelists, who are still in their carefree spirits awaiting the Taints to take action. His own personality, mixed with the Taints' style of manipulation, can the novelists really decipher and figure his game, this is only the beginning point.

As for Dazai, his book No Longer Human is a testament to being human not for sake, but for living. To save the main character out of his own story and deprivation.

The fact that it returned was nice, but I didn't think I'd be so hyped for next week's ep with this end xD

I loved Touson's character in this episode. He might become my favorite if he continues to get screentime like that.

I expected to see them delve into Ryuunosuke's books next, but the upcoming episode about no longer human exites me even more. Great episode.

I really like how they delve (no pun intended) not only into Dazai's character but also Akutagawa's. A part of this episode I always find myself recalling would have to be when Dazai walks out of the burning shed. His eyes are shadowed and he looks deeply sad, but in an instant changes to act like a clown and turn the event into something to laugh at, reflecting what Oda is saying to Akutagawa at the same time. It also gives a theory as to how Akutagawa was tainted, helping to sort out the cliffhanger we were left with at the end of episode 7. All in all, it was an amazing episode with really good character development for (I think) the main two characters.

Lmao the boys just casually growing tobacco plants to cheer up Akutagawa, real bromance there. Some cruel words to Dazai there at the end from his idol Akutagawa, seems a Tait really took him over.
