| I just noticed that the main theme for this season is linked around the death of someone. This is turning out to be one of the worst seasons yet. I have yet to like an episode |
| Man season one legit had episodes that made me jump or freak me out. After that, each season has been perpetually getting worse and this episode has been one of the worst ones out of all 7 season. Even this season, while not necessarily scary the episodes have still been ok and at least had an idea behind them. This ep was just, people die and I guess it's this guy turn...no real reason for it, not something he did or some other cause. The cause of death was going out of town on a business trip.....scary! |

| Usually, I am the one defending episodes that people hate but yeah this one was just kind of idiotic. He didnt do anything outside the rules. He wasnt warned to skip the town, its cursed. It was just a wrong place, wrong time with no foreshadowing which kind of cheapened the effect. This is one of the instances where they should have developed the story more instead of the usual too much background. The only lesson is to skip country towns in Japan whenever possible which seems a crappy idea to push. |

The fourth floor is often considered unlucky because the words for "four" and "death" in Japanese are the same. An ok episode, I'd say. At least it had some tension. |

The foreshadowing was the funeral he passed in the beginning, room number 404 and the ominous mood on the fourth floor, I guess. But I agree there could've been more foreshadowing during his check-in at the hotel. |

| The why of it all isn't very explained, but I do like the whole 404 thing both in how it relates to Japanese and the whole error code thing seems to fit with the termination of service. Regardless, with the music and the time to say goodbye plus with the man's reaction to it & his voice acting, I think it did a proper job of conveying the tension, though it doesn't really pay-off all that way (ending the episode with a "Goodbye" was fitting). Meh episode overall. |
