THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

They're lucky to survived that chaotic ride tbh. Got to know a little bit more about Mayuka this episode.

Honestly, I felt like this episode was just a matter of if they survive or not. Derrida and Vidaux had to team up to fight those mechanical things. I'm actually somewhat surprised that Vidaux survived. The amount of flashbacks felt like death flags between him and Mayuka.

There is three more episodes and everything is going to be crammed in to that

Looks like we finally might get explanation of how this anime's timeride works in the next episode

The whole Mayuka isn't his child was revealed after the flashback of him praying to the photo other than that this episode didn't really do anything for the story

Oh a Vidaux flashback, he was never Mayuka's dad, she was the perpetrator's daughter. So Mage is in the future but want's to jump back...

Finally some development on Vidaux and the daughter that never was his to begin with. Quite a life they had...

In another sense, Derrida and his crew are just barely surviving the ordeal that is the onslaught on DZs that are still heralding the war.

And...from the future, Mage wants to redo the Trout Theory...for reasons only the next episode will foreshadow.

So, this show finally remembered that DZs existed lmao

Ah Mage will finally have some screen time next week, hope its worth it because its the only "good" thing this anime has to offer right now

I must say. This guy's plot armour is quite impenetrable.

Not a bad episode with some exploration on Vidaux. He definitely is the best character in this show.

We learned even more about Vidaux's past, and also about Mayuka. Vidaux's wife was killed, and Vidaux took revenge on the perpetrator. That perpetrator had a baby in his house, and that baby happened to be Mayuka. Vidaux couldn't bear to leave Mayuka behind, so he decided to take her, and raise her as his own. I'm assuming that she probably has no idea who her real father was.

Vidaux's life almost ended in this episode. Thankfully, they managed to save him. But now the bombs are dropping! How much worse could things get?

I forgot the existence of the DZ until this episode lmao. The plot armor is ridiculous but at least we know more about Vidaux's past.

Vidaux having taken that mans child to raise himself is kind of an interesting twist, except you realize that he killed him in cold blood over a hit and run. I mean a hit and freaking run??? Sure hit and runs are bad, but it doesn't mean you deserve to die. We don't even know the context, maybe it was an accident and this guy didn't know he killed her and drove away in panic, and now it's eating his conscience. I mean whatever, I'm going too deep, but like it could have been more compelling if they made this dude out to be a real bad guy.

Another dumb thing is how the DZ's (that's the robots right?) were chasing the car full force and keeping up with it, but when Vidaux falls out they all stand around. Like come on m8, he should have been toast. Also graham took forever to turn around to help. Maybe it was waiting for the command from Mayuka idk.

This anime is pain.

2 guys took out a billion of those combat robots... One has to wonder why things that worthless are even an issue. It's almost as bad as The Walking Dead.

Yea, they seemed extremely weak this episode. Why are they still a problem. Like when Virdaux fell I figured he was toast... Yet the robots just stood there like zombies with no awareness. Also the bots seem to shoot like star troopers. It really does make it hard to take the bots as a threat. Also other than episode 8 when Virdaux gets stabbed the plot armor is thick in this anime. I would say too thick.

Although, at least we got some interesting back story. Also makes sense why Virdaux said he would not help if Derrida was in it for revenge.

Feels like the only good point about this series is Vidaux's relationship with his daughter. Honestly the only characters I care about.

Damn that explains his whole thing about revenge... quite the backstory I must say but still pretty interesting! Nice and intense episode. Looking forwards for the next one!
