| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Sanrio Puroland lol Kinda nice to see the guys taking their day off and have some fun I guess. It felt like the episode really tried to make the best to make everyone look like they're having a good time. Some of the moments were awkward imo, especially the Hello Kitty thing. That song though. |

| This was a weird episode TBH. I get that Kouta going to Puroland means having some sort of inspiration for what he wants to do next, but I thought the execution itself was kind of awkward. I still really like Sanrio Boys, but a major portion of the section felt like blatant advertising. Even with the advertising, the number of still scenes and weird mesh of realistic and 2D aesthetic made the experience kinda awkward. I wish there was more to the advertising section, like characters reflecting on how much they changed since first being against Sanrio products. And I wish at the least, they could animate the Sanrio performance so that I as a viewer would better understand Kouta's spark of inspiration. I kinda worry what is going to happen and how Kouta will take action in the next episode. I fear the next conflict would be extremely basic at the core. Although, there's still time to step up and make Sanrio Boys more interesting. :p |

| Seems like I'm not the only one who felt awkward during the miracle in Puraland, I couldn't believe I was even watching this. And now we'll have to handle even more embarrassing stuff, cause Kouta wants to sparkle the same way. |

| This episode was pretty cute, but the ending was a bit if a cringe. They should just go shopping more instead of becoming sparkles. I like seeing all the merchandise, there aren't any stores like that around here. I bought a lot on the online store... so their advertising is working. LOL |

| "...Ore mo Kirakira shitai!" Aaaaand DROPPED. I gave this episode a chance because it wouldn't have melodrama. And it didn't. They tried to get some... I guess good feeling and happy inspiration from being at Sanrio Puroland (yes I remember the goddamn name) but it just did nothing for me. I had to skip past the performance but because I just couldn't take it. This anime wasn't aimed at me from the start but now I'm confident in ending it here. Plus I am never going to stop hating Ryou. Geez, this is the fifth anime I've dropped on episode 7. It's the 7 episode curse I guess! Btw the reason the "I want to sparkle" thing became the final nail in the coffin for me is that I've seen love live and have Sunshine Season 2 on-hold. My ability to tolerate the vague bullshit motivation "I want to shine" is gone (unless there is a clear goal and awesome developments like in this season's far superior anime Sora Yori mo Tooi Basho. I bet he just wants to show off Sanrio at the school festival whatever. |
| This series started off cringe but cute and enjoyable. I dreaded watching an episode once the blonde kid's tantrum was introduced but persisted knowing it would be over eventually. Now that their' issues' are resolved it's very obvious it's just a huge advertisement for Sanrio. This entire episode was hard to watch for me - I skipped all of that Sanrio show since it was just the guy narrating over stills. The sparkle was too much lmao |

What I'm actually surprised about is folks in this thread not being able to stomach a children's performance in an anime. Like dang y'all, you dunno how to get hype for the kids? :U You just switch into a kid-entertainment tolerable mode (hoping that you still have the ability to switch into that mode). It's like the opposite of switching into porn-entertainment tolerable mode (yet so similar). Both have a bunch of cheese and like forced lines, so you just switch into a mode where you can just roll with it. There will be some that are so cheesy that you just can't though. This ain't it, but when you see them, you'll know. Oooooh boy, you'll know. |

| This episode was a lot of fun to watch. I'll likely never get to go to Japan, but if I did, I'd definitely go to Sanrio Puroland. I wonder what Kouta decided that he finally wanted to do? Work at Sanrio Puroland for a living? I'm quite surprised that many people in this thread were weirded out by this episode. Yes, it's essentially an advertisement for Sanrio products, but so is this entire show in a way. Nearly every mecha anime is the same way. I'm a guy, and I loved it, probably because deep down, I'm still a kid, and I have a feminine side that nobody would be able to detect simply by looking at me in real life, but it's there. |
