This was pretty amusing to start with but then it just started to get a bit too repetitive for me. I had a few laughs here and there, but nothing too amazing. Though my favorite part would be when the aliens popped out of the guy's head.
I probably wasn't able to enjoy this as much since I don't know most (if not all) the films/stories this was a parody of...

I loved the screaming at the beginning of each case and the James Bond parody in particular was pretty funny, otherwise, it's pretty meh (didn't really like or dislike).

It was boring. The animation wasn't good, but that wasn't really a big deal. It was a long 10 minutes, I constantly checked the timer to see how much more I had to watch.

It irks me when people put short films like this on such a high pedestal. Like, saying it's the best animation ever is just ridiculous. Did it really entertain you THAT MUCH that you had to say it was the best? Compared to any modern animation, it's not very good.

Great title. The repetitive parts were annoying. The only thing I like is the music. Everything else pretty much sucks.

I like how vampire is listed in the genres.

That maid's scream was really unsettling.

Best parts were James Bond and art theater.

Well that was interesting. It got really repetitive after a few different renditions but the different spins were cool.

I think it's a good short movie if you know what to expect beforehand and take into account the time that it was made.

As I see it, it wants to portray 2 things:
1. The saturation of TV and Cinema with detective/spy stories.
2. How different approaches can be used to solve the same case. In particular, the 1st approach (Sherlock-like character) examines the crime scene and tries to reach a logical conclusion. The 2nd one (Poirot maybe?) uses abstract thinking and the 3rd one tries to collect information by speaking to people. Now things get more interesting, since we start to deviate from the usual detective stories. The 4th investigator gives off a strong Dr. Hellsing vibe and treats the murder as a supernatural case. The 5th one is obviously Bond (or The Saint) and we get a more action-oriented story. The 6th approach welcomes the detective sci-fi subgenre, and the last one parodies art-house films.

You may also notice that most of the stories lead to the same person being the culprit. Maybe this wants to illustrate that the result is predictable or that the "good guys" win (well, most of the time), but it's the different approaches and ways of thought that make it interesting.

It's okay at best by today's standards but it was a creative take on how different kinds of characters in entertainment solve murder cases. The James Bond one was the best short among them and the gumshoe detective who talked to everyone was a close second for me because that's the most frequent kind of detective I've seen.

It's a bunch of short, clever, and funny parodies of different types of films where a murder case would occur. From a classic sherlock style murder mystery to an art film. I rather enjoyed this, the columbo, james bond, and art film parodies were my favorites.

The poor guy never catches a break! I bet he has one of those serial faces, or it could be the detective is always catching him :-)

The ending was weird though.

Indeed, one of the best short films ever portraying basically every crime film in history of cinema.. I especially loved these three parts - the Columbo one, Bond parody lol, European art cinema parody.. couldn't stop smiling..

love the art too
