Damnit, that monk dude is part of Shishio's group. Should make for a good battle then when Sano meets up with Kenshin.

Wow, that monk is awesome.

Too bad he's a member of Shishio's elite death squad, haha.

Unbelievable. I re-read chapter 7 (The Sekihoutai's fate) today as a stand-alone completely randomly after who knows how long and then the episode I watched today was this!? Seriously, this is no coincidence...

The emotions were amplified 10-fold. Sanosuke's words, bleeding fist and tears when the image of Sagara Taichou appeared... it really got me. That OST too.

So his training is complete in 7 days and everyone will reach Kyoto by "Tomorrow".

I'm still in shock about the whole thing, today was definitely Sagara Sanosuke's day for me Rurouni Kenshin-wise, hands down.

It makes sense now why Anji asked Sano what he thought about the Meiji government.

I honestly did not expect that the monk would turn out to be one of the bad guys, heh. This is interesting

That ending was interesting. Sanosuke will have to fight against his master at some point.
The scene with the hallucination was great too. It was rather poetic too that he dreamed of him in the forest where his fellows died.

Those tourists watching Kaoru and Yahiko training were goddamn hilarious. Even in 1890, tourists were still embarassing x)

Ouch, every time I saw that bloody fist... does he have no sense of pain? And ooh, Captain Sagara ghost/hallucination/idk. Cool, Sano's story has been one of my favorites through the series, so sad...

Really good episode, I'm glad they're not having Sanosuke wander around for the rest of the arc (I legit thought they were setting up a gag for him to show up at the end of the arc and be like "what the hell happened?!")

The training was spiritual and I love both of those twists at the end, this arc is shaping up to be great.

I wonder what would've happened if Sano was a Meiji government supporter at that moment.

Given that's where the seki houtai died, it really might have been the spirit of that guy left in the surroundings who contacted Sano when he needed support.

Though animation was rough at certain parts; it was a great episode but the question about the Meiji government made it obvious to who this monk was.

It was pretty damn obvious that the monk was going to be one of Shishio's elite units the moment he asked Sanosuke "what do you think of the Meiji government?". His response that he hated it was likely the reason he agreed to tell him about the technique too. Will be interesting and a bit sad to see what happens when they likely next meet.
