As much as I wanted season 3, it didn't happen. Well, we DO have the OVA in September though! I am very excited for that! Okay, the way the 2nd season ended was pretty good! Season 1 did end at a weird moment but coming from reading the manga, I was okay with it. This season ended so cutely! I'm so happy they included Ren's pregnancy scare!
At the start of the episode we already have Haru flirting and flaunting all the love he has for Ren in front of everyone. I really love this part cause even if the customers think he's joking, it's very cute how he does this in order to ease Ren's insecurities and doubts. Ren's reaction is especially adorable what with his tsundere-ness and his jealousy level at an all time high.
Moving onto Natsuo, he still has attachment issues and insecurities revolving around Haru. The beginning of the episode touches that when his boss asks what's his relationship (if he even has one to begin with) with the other Natsu. Of course Natsuo doesn't want to make his relationship with Haru more complicated than it already is so he feigns ignorance and tries his best to drop the subject. I especially love when he gets frustrated while on both his dates, the first one being when he kicks the wall and pouts to his date. It's so cute and I love how she comforts him. That's some good stuff. I love Natsuo so much, everyone in this series have hidden motives, insecurities and underlying problems that I can't get enough of.
Takamura plays a role and refrains from asking Ren about why his barrage of same-sex questions stopped. Juuzen even caused a comedic scene when he started thinking about all the reasons why Takamura would want a job at the school. I've missed Juuzen, he's Ren's best friend and he's so chill with their relationship. Get yourself a best friend like Juuzen. We move onto Natsuo and Haru's childhood. Baby Natsuo was so cute, Haru was also adorable. I'm happy that Natsuo was able to lean on someone for support when his mom was in the hospital. He got along so well with Haru and the nurse. Too bad the get jealous easily so Haru has to deal with that, even after they've grown so much. Though we get to see how Haru easily moves onto the new person he "loves" even if it's not in a romantic sense. He has attachment issues and I assume we all understand why. He's just trying to fill that void in his heart that exists because of Haruko. I don't blame Haru, he was a child but poor Natsuo must not have known the reason as to why Haru so easily went back to Aki and Shima. Natsuo was Haru's number one ahhh that's my fav thing about their relationship. Natsuo still holds some resentment towards Haru while Haru is just so laid back with Natsuo now. I love NatsuHaru so much because of their underlying problems. It would be wonderful if Haru knew how to appreciate everyone and love them all equally. However, he's definitely grown since then thanks to Ren's help.
The twins' birthday is coming up and Ren needs to decide on a gift for them. Haru cuddles Ren and seems to be grateful for the fact that Ren is at ease because of his words. This was especially a wonderful moment in the manga for their relationship since it showed that everything that happened prior was because of Ren's overthinking and insecurities. I'm very glad Haru managed to ease Ren and show him just how much Ren truly means to him. They're so perfect gahhh. We have more Natsuo moments and even more sweet comments made by his cute dates. I swear, they're all so nice and adorable. I especially love how Natsuo is now even more involved with the Kaidou family since he's even invited to the birthday party. Ahh, we get to find out the secret behind Haru's customers and why that 20% hasn't come back. We get more Natsuo wanting to curse Haru for being so damn lucky but as manga readers know, Haru has such horrible bad luck ahh.
Ren's declaration of dating! That completely stole my heart just like the manga did! Natsuo wanting to cause a scene while also making both Haru and Ren's relationship progress further because of Ren's words is just the cherry on the sundae. Ren's flustered expression as he kicks Haru and angrily shouts at Natsuo while not caring about the other people present. I love it! They're so comfortable and fine with it that it just warms me up. Considering some characters, in the manga specifically, really love grinding Ren's gears and bully Ren for his feelings towards Haru. So I really appreciate how the important people in Ren's life, Aki, Shima, Juuzen, Natsuo, Iku and Kiyoka are all fine and dandy with it. Oh, even the landlord has no problem with it so that's very adorable! Ren secludes himself in his room because of his embarrassment so Haru rushes up to comfort him after shouting at Natsuo about his jokes. Yesssss, finally after Ren's announcement of dating, Haru has finally come to terms about being more than an older brother to Ren. I dig it. I love when Ren bites Haru and acts so feral, it's so endearing ahhh.
Haru getting turned on by Ren's licking is beautiful, I dig everything about their relationship.
Ren gets sick again! Though it's not anything new according to Aki. Ahh, I love how Aki spoils Ren, it's so adorable! I love the brother bonding as much as I love HaruRen. Poor Takamura-sensei and his close relationship with the Kaidou family now. A shame we didn't get to see him and Natsuo sleeping together, I love that cap since Abe's art is so beautiful. Ren and his phantom pregnancy gets to me ahaha. Aww, they condensed the chapters into this episode but there are many funny moments in the manga during this part. Like when Haru comments on how he's hasn't been inside Ren yet, simply hilarious. The ending is so sweet. Natsuo becomes an indefinite member of the family. Everyone is happy and Haru still doesn't realize that Ren is talking about puppies and not real human babies.
I loved this season of Super Lovers! Everything was hilarious, the characters were loveable and so much development between the main pair! I'm so immersed in this series, I am weak to everything about it. Now we wait for the OVA and hopefully many more new projects to come! |
