As I mentioned in a different thread, to better organise and maintain the anime relations list, I shall remove anime that are completely translated by an 'active' group which may or may not be available in subbed form to the 'public' yet. This information will be acquired via IRC, email or other sources possible from lanblade, myself or any other person who has affiliation with the respectful group(s) in question.

For starters, since I run a 9 year old 'active' group, I shall state the SFW anime we have completely translated, but have not released to the public yet (most reasons are to do with lack of essential personnel, lack of time because of school or work - keep in mind, most of us veterans are in our late 20s, early-to-late 30s or older).

Likewise, for others, I shall name the anime, followed by the group name. Once they are listed here, they will be removed from the SFW club by the admins.

If there are anime SFW members/community try or want to add also happen to be in suit with the above information, the admins and I shall do our best to let you know the group that has the translation, so that you can contact them for updates.

As has been suggested (and with the blessing of alchemist11), I am happy to announce that one more old school anime has now been completely translated into English.

Aishite Night [TV Series] - Kofuku Fansubs

Kofuku Fansubs is currently a one person operation, so the translations have been done by myself (Misarae). I have been releasing single episode scripts along with the episode releases (which as of this posting is up to 24 out of 42 episodes). So far I've just been doing my releases as direct download from my Mega account and with a couple of streaming options. Links to all of them can be found at my blog: http://kofukusub.livejournal.com.

Or more specifically, you can use the "release" tag, which will take you directly to the release posts: http://kofukusub.livejournal.com/tag/release

I'm hoping to do a batch torrent once all the episodes have been released, since hopefully by then I will be able to fund a seedbox.

I'm really excited about this, and hopefully I will be able to add more completely translated titles to this list in the future!

Hey alchemist11,
I sent you a PM, but maybe you haven't gotten to it.

I would be willing to subtitle Tamala 2010: A Punk Cat in Space [OVA]. https://myanimelist.net/anime/8079/Tamala_2010__A_Punk_Cat_in_Space_OVA
I'm not a part of any fansub groups and it can be released under ray=out once it's completed if that works for you.
Please let me know if you can send me the translation.
Thanks

Not part of this group, but Tanken Driland is ranslated since a few years, but I don't find the time to finally release it...
Trying to watch all available anime series so you won't have to anymore, the list of anime I can recommend is still in progress, tho

Quick question, alchemist11, and apologies if you feel this is off-topic but it's something I'm curious about:

Why are you sitting on all those translations? Ray=out hasn't released anything in nearly 5 years now, it seems, and I'm wondering if you just have chronic staffing shortages which is stopping these projects from seeing the light of day. Because as far as I can tell, a lot of these shows/episodes still remain unsubbed, so it'd be great if those translated scripts turned into releases at some point in the future. So just wondering what the hold up was, because I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would be more than glad to help out in getting them released.

That is precisely the case. In most instances, it's not just translation that is done, but the timing and in almost all instances encode is done too. We've been trying to recruit quality checkers (and timers) for years to help out. I've reached out to multiple people to come back to subbing, either from within my own circle that idle on IRC or outside that have long 'retired'. I also frankly don't know how to recruit new people who are interested in subbing (when everything today is licensed) or people that are still subbing older shows. Though, to be fair, I wouldn't want to put someone completely new to it in the middle of a show and would prefer he or she has an interest in the show for starters because some of the people that sub today are not even interested in the respective shows.

P.S. I don't know if you are the same FalseDawn that I've heard about, but if you know people interested in helping out, I would very much appreciate you send them my direction, either via MAL or the SFW Reddit page.

Could you just put some of this stuff on nyaa or wherever? Even if no one ever QCs them; it's been long enough that it seems like it's going to be that or nothing

I'm currently working to get (the next batch of) HR released in a few days (they are already quality checked). As for the others, you'll have to enquire within (via PM or email) to know why that will never happen. I don't put out things that we work on haphazardly.

It is an exceedingly long project I am not exactly sure to take one day. As for the french dub, I am talking from experience since I am a french old timer... I can tell you they ARE NOT accurate. The dub adaptations of early 90s were all about "frenching" the product up to make it comprehensible for as many spectators unfamiliar with Japanese culture as possible...

For instance the dub of Aishite knight called okonomiyaki "crepes" and the MC's band told to frequently tour at Bercy. Hilarious nonsense, given how later on the MC travels to France, haha.
