I don't know about you, but I don't think it's that bad. While I do agree with all of these comments about it being bland and everything. I think series story wise, tension, and theme is fine. The reason is because I feel it's bland is because of the generation this was released in and the many animes and mangas I watched/read. In the past, I watched and read many forms of manga and anime that probably didn't have exactly, but give similar tensions (and theme) like Triage X (sometimes more intense, deeper in some areas, or more appealing because it was the first thing I watched before Triage X), making me feel bland on Triage X itself. Basically, I believe if Triage X was released in a much earlier time, where I haven't spoiled too much of myself on the various anime and manga that shared similar or more intense themes (and other factors), I think I would like this Triage X series more.
An example is the Mario game. I love the Mario and it takes me back a long time (one of the first things I experienced and love). IF the first game wasn't release in the time it was released (like around the 1980's) and was instead release in todays generation as a 2015 game (new and everything), I probably wouldn't like it (thinking it's just ridiculous with a ridiculous storyline and plot with the mushrooms and turtles) as much than I like it now.
Overall, if the Mario game was never released in it's time (1980's) and was instead release in today's generation, would one like it as they like it now (not thinking how too weird it is story wise and not think it pales to other games)? The same could apply to One Piece, Naruto, Dragonball, Yu Yu hakusho, Sailor Moon, etc. If they were release in todays generation and instead not released in their earlier times, would we still like them as much as now (or give it as much as a chance if it was released in it earlier times?)
Basically, because of the years of anime, mangas, TV shows, and books I've read and watch, Triage X is kinda bland in comparison since I watched and read other series that already give such similar sense of tension and theme ( I think like "Oh this like a sexier version of something else" or "I've seen these kinds of shows before and know how they work" ).
I've been spoiled by the many mangas, books, animes, TV Shows, I've read and watch in the past.
If I erase the comparisons and other stuff I watch/read, Triage X isn't that bad to me by itself plus the story built up and such is getting more interesting and amusing.
But that's just me. Others probably don't feel the same as I do, and I don't mind. I basically agree with your comments, but by a different reason. |
