I watched Akame ga Kill, Angel Beats, Another, Beyond the Boundary, Black Bullet, Blade Dance of the Elementalers, Castle Town Dandelion, Chainsaw Man, Charlotte, Death Parade, Demon Slayer, Dimension W, Food Wars, Gangsta, Gate, Haganai, Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto, High School of the Dead, Housing Complex C, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kakegurui, Monster Musume, Orange, Overlord, Re:ZERO, School-Live, Shimoneta, Snow White with the Red Hair, Spy x Family, Sword Art Online: Alicization War of Underworld, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, The Promised Neverland, Tokyo Revengers, Trinity Seven and Violet Evergarden as well.
If you want a great female lead I highly suggest giving Rose of Versailles a try. It contains one of the best female protagonists ever. I'm planning on watching 91 Days, Mob Psycho 100, Onara Gorou, Orange and a few sequels like Soma and Arslan.
Haha glad I could be of assistance then. I wish we had more shows with characters like her, instead of these cookie cutter characters we keep getting instead. Btw, what titles do you plan to watch this season?
This is probably obvious, but I don't give much weight to visuals and sound. ...So yeah, it sucks for shows like SAO that rely on them almost completely.
Anyway, great that you liked it. Now we can just wait for the inevitable season 3.
Thanks. The more you think about the show, the more blatant these problems become. The part about player killing struck me as especially odd because if you write a death game, the killings should be motivated by the rules of the game, not random psychopathy.
Well thank you. I had heard nothing but crap about School Days, and I wanted to decide for myself what it was really like instead of taking other's opinions on it. If i had gone solely on the rating and reviews I'd seen, I'd never have watched it. It was always either a mocking 10/10 rating, or 1s and saying it's the most incomprehensibly awful thing ever. It's really not. It isn't a great anime, by any stretch, but what it did for the genre, and how absolutely memorable it is are what make it good. I liked School Days. I hoped you could tell that I was trying to shine it in a positive light, while pointing out the issues.
School Days. I'm glad that you gave it a favorable review, but I don't think it deserves a 9. The art does suck, and it's absolutely infuriating to watch until the lies start unraveling about episode 8.
There is a lot of subtext in School Days about interpersonal relationships, and a deconstructivist take (I've mentioned this in my review, dunno if you read it.) on the harem genre, examining a realistic, if extreme, take on what happens when you try to play 4 or 5 women off on each other... It doesn't end okay. A lot of people seem to miss this point, but glad you picked up on it!
