| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Very great episode, a lot of things happened. The scene when Ayumi's former master rejected Hani-meijin in the flashback encouraged my theory of him being the murderer again. But he must've forgotten about it, why else would he let Hani-meijin take over Ayumi now? Maybe Ayumi will be the one to discover the truth for Shion? I can't stand these two brothers, looking forward to more. |

| The beginning left me confused. I don't recall 15 hinting at that. Am I wrong? Also, the animation seems a bit off. And not just in this episode. And Ayumi-kun's hair! What a shame. </3 |

| I thought this episode was amazing. Ill miss crossdressing ayumi but I think this is what needed to happen to move his story along. All I can say now is I 'need' the next episode. |
| I heard that this was the episode that turned so many tables around. And just as I expected, that was the best episode of Shion no Ou yet, making me change the score from 9 to 10 (4th TV series anime to be a 10 now). Because even I cried a bit when Shion found out about the death of Ayumi's mother. Is is that hard for me to shed tears? Other than the animation, the development with Hani-Meijin, Satoru, Ayumi, Kamizono-Sensei was amazing. Ok...so now I'm down to 3 suspects: Saori, Yasouka and Kamizono-sensei. I just keep getting worked up with Saori's role in this anime. Just my ranting thoughts on Saori. You don't have to read it if you want to. |

| Ayumi with short hair = fail. I liked his long hair better, female or not female =( And as for suspects, I'm suspecting more Meijin than Yasuoka but we'll see how it all goes. Six episodes left! |

| Whoa, what a wonderful episode, after episodes of very little information and plot movement, this episode was a nice change of pace with loads of information and a nice progression of the story. The death of Saitou's mother came from left field – I didn't see that coming! Then again, the previous episodes didn't give any hint that that would happen; in fact there wasn't any cliff-hanger at all! It is a little sad that he lost to Satoru, but expected, I would really like to see him play against his brother – the Meijin. Although, I would miss the cross-dressing Saitou, I am glad that he finally decided to play as himself – I wonder what the shogi institute would say about this – I expect some repercussions, but I wonder how much, especially with the Meijin supporting him. In any case, I look forward to see their reactions in the next episode. By the way, is it me or is there something... off about the animation of this episode? I don't know, it looks like they were getting a tad careless or something. |

| Decent episode. It had a lot going on, but no really good mind games. It was good character development for Saito but I'm not digging the new hair. |

| This pretty much sums up the seriousness of Shion no Ou: Laughed quite heartily when i read that ...I guess i cant be a true kishi :( On a side note... i never knew that Shion moving a shogi piece would look so sexy |

| Saitou looked sharp in the suit with his long hair. Too bad he had to cut it short like that. The more I see, the more I suspect everyone. Everytime I think I know who the killer may be one or two scenes will happen that makes me rethink everything. I think I'm just going to watch the rest of the show and let it just surprise me. |

| I'm betting Hani-meijin is the murderer. It just has to be him. If it turns out to not be, I'll be shocked. I have a slight idea of his reason, most probably to push Shion to the top of the shougi world and prove that female kishi are strong too, but that's kinda meh, lol. Yasuoka sensei was a primary suspect but I like him so no and Satoru is a jerk but I pity him so no. 6 episodes left to go, 3 hours ... |

| Yep I think the meijin's the killer. He's connected to Shion via his friend (forgot his name..Kyoutaro?) who wanted to teach Shion shougi. It's a minor connection but still it's there. In episode 14, Shion also said Satoru resembled someone from her past. He's also connected to Kazumi via his brother. I just hope the reason isn't shallow though. Would totally ruin this show. |

| That's some really great development for Saito even though it's really sad, his mother is dead, he lost the match against Satoru and he also lost his master, even though now he's switching to be Hani's pupil and he cut his hair... that's a lot in one episode. |

| Is it just me or the hair cutting scene was fujo fanservicey? Not that I mind, so far this story's been absolutely awesome, not a single boring or stale episode which is rare as rare getd. The animation style definitely changed, looks less polished now. Not sure I like it but I can live with it I guess. |
