Another work with a typical theme for Atsushi Wada - societies pressure to confirm to norms.
I didn't like it as much as some of his other works since the topic of fashion and the childish behaviour that can come with it just doesn't interest me as much and the visual representation was also less interesting than in some of his later works, but it was a decent watch nonetheless.
I probably regret this post by now.

Why a turtle? o_o'
Why is she in this sort of maze? She is out of it, no in it, so why?
Perhaps the maze epitomizes society, closed, with no hope leaving out?

I'd say that's definitely one way of interpreting it.

As for the Turtle, I'm not sure but the guy generally likes to use animals as motifs, especially birds, frogs, pigs and turtles so I just kinda roll with it unless they are a central aspect of the short (like in pig's eye or mechanism of spring).
I probably regret this post by now.

Probably the nicest and more concise Atsushi's short I've seen, but I still don't like his forcedly abstruse style.

What the hell did I just watch xD Osharu osharu osharu *shivers*

Plain Jane Granny decided to just be herself after gazing at those flies flying on the turtle's patterns and seeing that the fly that followed the other was heading towards the wrong way out of the imaginary pattern maze with it or something like that, finding out that following others are not necessarily always the right thing.

What's with the turtle though? A highschool for Grannies looks messed up as well hahah. Avant garde animations can be so bizarre.

How society is not set on individualism, but a make up of fishes who go the same way or parrots who mimic everything.

I guess most people in society are stuck in that turtle maze. What a good anime man and had a good clear message at that too. The art wasn't to my liking though.

That yellow dress though, 6/10.

Meaning was too clear for this guy's work. The folly of following trends.

That was awful, but don't take my word for it.

Quite boring, but leaves a meaningful message.

Initially this piece had me very confused, but it really unfolded as it went along into something that I find to be deeply meaningful. Obviously, we see how the people all mimic the new fashion trends. What was once unique and stylish becomes ordinary. Only our lead doesn't follow suite. She is a bit troubled. I think she questions whether she should follow along, but she may also lack the items needed. From what I understand, the tortoise, a symbol of luck and prosperity, is used here to say that these things are a temporal trap. The lead escapes this trap, this maze, this cycle of rebirth and ascends.

not too bad, interesting concept...
Very agreeable, everyone wants to be fashionable.... but it gets annoying after a while.
Cute little short for sure
