I hope they can change that grim future. Regarding the parallel world theory, that actually seems very interesting since Kakeru and Naho plays a prominent role in it.

Well, it'll come down to New Years....

To change how things should have been by forfeiting your own feelings? That's deep.

Looks like the shrine visit is going to be an important factor as to whether Kakeru dies or not.

can we talk about Suwa ignoring his feelings in order to change the future, he even has pictures of the family he and naho could have yet he's still letting go of her T^T

The next chapter may be the turning point of the first part of the manga because Naho mentioned that shortly after the fight they didn't talk much until he died. The letter will end and will have to improvise to save Kakeru.

Yes, that's what really got me about this chapter, I really feel that Suwa making that kind of sacrifice without Naho knowing the details as well is just so sad. I don't want Kakeru to die but I'm also rooting for Suwa. He deserves his happiness too and he is being just too nice for his own good.

Oh man. I feel bad for Suwa. He can still find another girl, but Kakeru won't be able to if he's dead...

The parallel world theory is kind of nice because for me, Suwa might think that at least in another world they're happy together and it is up to him to change this world's future.

But man, this is still an open ending, Kakeru can either end up dead or alive in this world.

What if his death is inevitable?

I only think of 2 ending possibilities it is either Suwa and Naho will get married and Kakeru lives or Suwa and Naho married (again) and Kakeru dies with happiness and all of them relieves from the guilt they had of not knowing that Kakeru will die eventually without knowing/relieving his problems/pains.

This story's so sad that it makes me want to cry every chapter :'(

I hope Kakeru doesn't die in their "present world" because it'd be too sad, I wouldn't be able to handle my tears :(

Suwa is so selfless ;__;

I don't remember the first few chapters, but if I'm not mistaken Naho doesn't know that her future self marry Suwa? And from this chapter it's revealed that her other friends and Suwa know it from the letters. I wonder why Naho's letters never reveal it?

Ahh, the plot finally thickens. I feel like the action is really going to pick up after this. My heart breaks for Suwa and I actually think he's my favorite character.

I really think regardless Suwa will end up marrying Naho though because future Naho mentions to everyone that they were wrong, that no matter what she would've ended up with Suwa not Kakeru. She states it very assuredly and I think she knows her own feelings better than anyone. I think deep down Suwa is her best friend and the one who understands her and has always been there for her. Kakeru is a "first love" type deal, where it's intense but burns out. I think Suwa is actually her true love.

Because think about it, if Kakeru didn't try to kill himself, would he even have a chance at Naho over Suwa? No, probably not.

I don't know if I didn't mess up details, but I had this thought when Kakeru collapsed... wasn't it on the day when in the parallel world he attempted commiting suicide? Maybe I ended up overthinking it, but I am so worried that the thing is that future can't be changed and eventually some accident will happen. I would be heartbroken if I am right. And when I imagine what everyone would feel when he dies even though they were forewarned and were trying to prevent it... omg T^T

What if the one who dies at the end is Naho?

But still I like how Suwa thought about the parallel world, I want Kakeru to live because that's what they are aiming for. I still wonder tho if Kakeru lives, will Naho be his wife? Coz Naho stated that eventho Kakeru were to live, she still marries Suwa. BUT BUT I STILL HAVE HIGH HOPES Kakeru and Naho end up together in the other world. :')

Even though this is a shoujo, I still can't get over how amazing the interpersonal relationships between the characters are. This is one of those stories where genre really gets thrown out the window, and it just becomes a good story all-around.

Suwa and Takako are the best characters so far IMO, but the rest of them are great as well.

I just started reading this series, and I'm sad that the chapters are not being released monthly right now :( I'm not sure if Takano Ichigo is on hiatus or the magazine is releasing other manga.

Such great timing for the flash forwards. My heart ached when Naho said she'd still fall in love and marry Suwa even if Kakeru were alive. And I'm dying to find out what happens on New year's eve!

How bad is this fight gonna be between Kakeru and Naho? Will Suwa still comfort Naho, if not, how will Naho cope? How will Suwa deal with his feelings for Naho?

I have a feeling that Kakeru will either find out about his friend's letters, or he himself will receive a letter about his future. I'm confused about this time travel, there are theories that certain events will always happen no matter what you do to change them. But they've already changed several events such as the relay, and Naho/Kakeru confessing their feelings. There's so many questions! WHY CANT THEY RELEASE THE NEXT CHAPTER!

I think that is BS from future Naho.. If she did, she would have told her past self that she was married to Suwa. BS!!!

Because the person Naho likes at that moment was Kakeru. If present Naho tells past Naho about her future, past Naho will probably realize her feelings for Suwa too early, and it will create a paradox. (I'm not sure if that's the correct word)

This is something that I was trying to point out! I couldn't write it in words, but thank you!

I think the reason for all the letters was to remove the guilt that their present selves have. Sending letters to their past selves will make an assurance that at least in the other parallel worlds, they were guilt-free.

In Naho's case, I think she sent the letters because she wanted to love Suwa freely. As you mentioned, Suwa was blabbering about how he stole Naho from Kakeru and if Kakeru was alive, Naho will probably choose Kakeru over Naho. However, Naho replied that she will always choose Suwa no matter what. And that seals everything for me.

I want the outcome to be like this:
1) Kakeru will be saved.
2) Naho and Suwa will be married again.

That sounds like my ideal outcome too. Then Suwa would feel that she really chose him and not that he was the second choice.

Yup. This is contradicting.
Future Naho told us that No matter what She will choose Suwa yet on her letters, there were no sign of noticing Suwa's feelings.

I want to believe that she didnt write it because she strongly believes that she will still end up with Suwa but i dont know. Its too much of a contradicting.

Seriously though. I love Suwa. I love him being selfless, but please take your chance!
Parallel worlds may exist but the feelings you have is still the same love.

Suwa is such a gentleman.. I still think this all saint-like behaviour of him is forced. He doesn't need to sacrifice himself this much for Kakeur and Naho.

Orange is great, it's nothing like your typical romance shoujo, their relationships are so well defined, and their friendship is such a strong bond, they always manage to leave me heartfelt with their kinship :3
I'm so torn by this manga D:
Kakeru is such a good boy, what a lovely smile. Rooting for Suwa though, what a strong man he is. Going all the way to make Naho able to smile in the future, he truly deserves to be with her.

His chapter feels like it's the calm before the storm
I just can't see it being a fluffy and nice in the next few chapters, I'm guessing Kakeru is going to force distance between him and Naho.. Because he things he will hurt her, and is "happy" the way they are.

This must be so hard for Suwa, giving away a future where he's with the girl he loves so that someone else can have her. I hope Kakeru lives but he and Naho just decide they aren't fit for each other and so Suwa ends up with Naho, though that's very unlikely.
