I don't know where to begin, I'm really into this. I guess I'll start with the technical sides of creating paranoia in the reader. I have never seen another series overlay one character's thoughts over the panel of another. That is an excellent technique, not only that but the panel of Ishikura’s face was drawn much scarier than what he looked like prior to that. As a reader we read that in his voice at first, it makes us feel like he is thinking that too, it lets us directly see the way Asai is seeing him. Or after the cell phone was seen and Asai walked away we had a black panel with Ishikura watching him leave. It makes us feel that Ishikura’s eyes are on him too. The passing of a knife all of a sudden has this crushing context, the manga had me reading the situation as Asai may. Obviously Ishikura knows what's happening too, in fact he was thinking about it before Asai. To offer Asai a knife is a way of gaining trust, I thought. The page of Asai after he was told to give the knife back was excellent too. The sheer paranoia was well depicted, and it's a test, he couldn't even ask about the call from earlier so obviously if he doesn't give the knife back it proves he's suspicious, and that proves that he’s a threat Ishikura should kill. All of this on top of that narration about time being poison warping their minds created an excellent tone. As paranoid as they are now, and help coming in two days, I can't imagine either of them will want to sleep and their sleep deprivation will make all of this far worse.

I hope that we change character perspectives later down the line, I would love to leave Asai’s mind and see Ishikura’s.
