power scaling makes no sense. wasnt the purple girl like the strongest ghoul of all time and she just like died do to some metal beams falling. how did the main character not die when he was sitting right next to her? outside of that it was pretty good. 2/5

| Kaneki doesn't seem like the introspective or rational sort from the outset, but that may change. Being a ghoul looks to be even more of a nightmare for a moral person than being a vampire would be. True to folklore, ghouls in this series consume human flesh to sate their appetite, and it may even be necessary for them to survive. Though, because ripping chunks of flesh off a person is much more lethal than feeding off of blood—the latter of which is a "renewable" resource of sorts—it's unlikely to see many alternatives for Kaneki besides putting up with legal, non-human food tasting terrible. Since he's apparently a human-ghoul hybrid, it's probably more of a reasonable expectation of him than those who are pure ghouls. |

| I didn't really like that. It's like... an angsty vampire story that's very gory and sort of cannibalistic. I have no attachment to any of it, and I might just drop it here. I'll sleep on it. |
