Sounds like the girl's... hrm... two girls and one trap are in trouble. I was really worried for Shion in this match, but I'm sure she'll pull through. I can't say as much for Saori (?), I actually never expected her to win against the Meiji. Anyway, here's hoping the next episode doesn't leave them all losing.

That was so intense, all three of the matches. I'm glad they are using a realiztic approach to this where we wont be seeing complete upsets. Saito has lost already and it seems like Saori and Shion will lose theirs as well. The only girl that I think still has any chance left of winning is Shion. Anyways, I''ll be looking forward to the next episode.

What a bastard, that Satoru is playing around too much with our Shion =( .

It was intense indeed, I totally forgot to eat the food I wanted to eat while watching anime, lol.

This show is just too good. Even more intense than Kaiji at times.

It will be for the better (and more realistic) if all 3 girls lose. It seems to be going that way; they're all up against opponents worlds apart in Shogi skill.

Those random moments keep me laughing, like when Hisatani got hit over the head, and when we saw Saori at a younger age. So Cute! Makes me wonder why I hated her earlier in the series.

Haha yeah, my fave moment in this episode though was when Shion stood up and walked out of the room like Satoru did before. xD

After watching episode 12, i'm starting to think more and more that Satoru was not the killer, though there has to be someway he's linked to it --- that or he just knows everything about it. I do love how he played around with Shion in this match though, just how it should have been done.

I think Satoru's being to cruel for someone who's not the killer. I still think it's him. Why else would he hate her so, when she's never done anything to him?

The only theory I can come up with in which Satoru is not the killer, is that the killer is actually his brother. But Satoru knows about it and now enjoys toying around with Shion. But, there are no real bad vibes around his brother and I don't know how this guy who wants to promote the matches all the time fits into this either. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

Wow, what an intense shogi-filled episode! It looks like the three main female protagonists are not fairing too well with their matches, which I reckon should be expected – it would be so unrealistic if all three girls won. I'm also interested if Saitou would accept the offer to join the study group Shion is apart of – I hope so, because that would mean more moments with Saitou and Shion together!

I'm glad that the police finally have a lead in their investigations to the death of Shion's parents, but somehow I get the feeling that Satoru may be a red herring – it seems much too obvious. Oh well, time will tell I reckon, in any case, I'm looking forward to the next episode!

My theory as to why Satoru hates Shion is that she's very similar to him, both having lost their parents at a young age and plays shougi (though he doesn't seem to enjoy it). However, she was able to succeed as a kishi player whereas he couldn't ...? At this point though, i hate Satoru, hasnt she suffered enough? leave her alone and play like a pro :(

Some interesting matches but I think Shion will be the only one to advance. Satoru is cocky and plays around too much. He needs to get slapped down a notch.

before this episode i would have swore that satoru was the killer but after this episode it just seems like he just resents her for some reason although he still has that necklace he carries around so it could still be him

Steel is my body and Fire is my blood,
I have created over a thousand blades,
Unknown to Death,
Nor known to Life,
Have withstood pain to create many weapons,
Yet, those hands will never hold anything,
So as I pray, unlimited blade works"

Satoru definitely knows something about Shion's parents' death. I hope Shion beats the crap out of him.

Coincidence that in her game against Satoru, the "king" appears again? I don't think so...he is the killer or he likes to disturb little girls.

Shion getting up and walking out on Satoru was amusing. Though, I'm not completely convinced she'll be able to beat him, considering he's likely near the level of his brother. As a side note, it's incredibly impressive that Makoto and Satoru can play a match in their head.

Well, if nothing else, it seems like Satoru does indeed hold some sort of grudge against Shion. It's hard to tell if he's simply interested in her as a means to his own ends, or if it's something else.

Satoru is making Shion so uncomfortable that she's rushing plays to try and finish the match more quickly. As for why he apparently hates her, is it because Makoto is more fascinated by Shion's playing than his own? Satoru was always pissed that their mother's death interrupted their match, but now he sees that Makoto is getting invested in shogi with other people, so that could be it. Just conjecture, but I am curious as to why Satoru wants to torment Shion.
