I don't like the style of the animation. Compared to the exciting look of the manga the anime looks just soulless. Also that load of CGI detracts from the atmosphere.

Crappy CG (even most of recent TV series has better), and the overall generic cheap Resident Evil-style feeling.
Not good at all.

Don't like the CG. The characters look great at some parts of the trailer. Other times, they look odd. For example, Kasumi in her capsule before going to sleep looked weird. Too shiny? Right afterwards, when she's behind the vines or sitting up in her capsule, she looks like what I'd expect.

Love how the trailer asks how long they were asleep and the site says "100 years of sleep". Some stuff being changed as it's adapted, then?

Looks that way from the trailer.

And yeah...I hope they don't go into CG excess - unless it's giant robots, it rarely works well (and not even in all of those cases).

Although I guess I'm up for a disappointment no matter how, since I loved the manga to pieces and have already hyped the film up in my mind...:P

Just something I noticed in the trailer that bugged me. Tim has RED hair there while in the manga he is BLONDE. Just a little pet peeve because he looks better blonde, especially for his later look in the final part of the series. Dammit.

That aside, trailer looks good,
The rest of the characters look spot on and I hope they fix/change Tim's hair colour. CG monsters were expected, but still a downer(All hail good ol 2D monsters).

What's wrong with the CG? Firstly, you can't really judge it based on a couple of quick scenes on the trailer. And secondly, from what I saw it looked good.

Anyway, the trailer makes the movie look awesome. Though I still think I'll read the manga first.

I must've worded myself badly. I did like the trailer and I certainly find the movie promising. The CG monsters were alright, but I personally prefer 2D monsters. The only negative thing I really have to say about it was the hair colour change of one of the characters but thats hardly of any importance and won't affect the movie itself.

Oh I wasn't really directing that at you specifically. I can understand your preference for 2D monsters and such. I was more directing it at harakiri and seishi, since they specifically said the CG looks crappy. But it looked fine to me.

I think they are completely changing the story and it's world. Beacuase lot of things in that trailer doesn't make sense.

I think we should have expected some things to change. Nothing ever works out perfectly. What a shame. The manga was fine the way it is for a movie adaptation.

I never finished the manga so hopefully I'll get the end from here it looks okay but the CG monsters do look kind of out of place but still pretty cool I liked the whole atmosphere that was created, feels differn't from the manga tho but not in a bad way.

"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself."
