UCSD's anime club -- Cal Animage Beta!
We host anime showings every Monday evening at 8pm. We also hang out and organize weekend socials like karaoke, club dinner, and Tea Party (anime marathon + potluck). Our largest event is our annual on-campus convention, Animefest, which is takes place in Winter Quarter.
Cal Animage is a loosely organized association of international anime clubs. The first chapter, Cal Animage Alpha, was founded at UC Berkeley in 1989. Our club, Cal Animage Beta, was established in the next year (1990) as the second chapter. In 1992, Cal Animage Alpha (UCB), Beta (UCSD), Gamma (UCSB), Epilson (UCI) and Eta (UCLA) co-sponsored the first Anime Expo.
