Information

Candy Candy (キャンディ・キャンディ, Candy Candy?) is a Japanese novel, manga, and anime series. The main character, Candice "Candy" White Ardlay is a blonde American girl with freckles, large emerald green eyes and long, curly hair, worn in pigtails with bows.We watch her as she falls in love, gets hurt but in the end always overcomes the obstacles.

Candy Candy was one of the first deep impressions that I've got from anime industry. At that time I thought that any animation should be targeted for children and it was a shock for me when the main male protagonist died. I was devastated and cried for the whole evening. It's not that I was too inexperienced or lighthearted, since my parents let me watch almost anything (from horror to heavy drama/tragedy movies). From the very beginning of the series I thought that it would be some kind of Cinderella story and I've automatically placed Anthony for the role of Prince. But I recovered pretty fast never stoped loving Candy Candy since then. The strength of the character, her compassion, kindness and understanding of others were the thing coupledwith strong determination to never give up made her one of my favorite heroines of childhood.

this was the first anime I saw in my life, and left a deep mark, from there all I wanted was to find my own Anthony
