Sorry for the late reply, but I had to deal with aggravating PC issues for the past month and a half.
Sure ;) Did you end up doing anything interesting on your b-day? I was just messing with you. However, you do come off as a very reserved/professional type, so that’s probably it.
There seems to be some truth in the saying about turning “30” and feeling it. It’s not hard to get out of bed or anything, but you do notice some small changes. For instance: my knees occasionally crack, there are two subtle grey hairs in my beard, and my metabolism is starting to slow down. :/
Thanks, it’s kinda funny you asked that. Several doctors advised me to lay off smoking (if I did any) during recovery. Fortunately, I’ve never smoked and I probably never will. My mom was a heavy smoker and she has the negative effects to show it. Plus, I’ve had a couple of relatives die from lung cancer. I also staunchly avoid marijuana (weed) and other drugs, because I fear they’d put me at risk for the same mental problems my mother has.
Well, the cardiologist seemed stumped, so that meant more testing. This time, it was a heart ultrasound and tests to check my thyroid hormone and plasma levels. The good news is everything came back normal, but that still isn’t much to go on. Anyway, I’m booked for another visit with the heart doc in couple of weeks, so we’ll see.
Thanks, that’s an awfully nice thing to say :) Honestly, I’m not that cordial offline; I was once compared to “Snape” (remember?).
Think it was because you’re a woman? I find it ironic that people who specialize in human rights/fairness are so quick to keep someone down. Do you hand out business cards, or do clients typically reach you through your firm? BTW, how much would it take for you to represent Mr. Sandler in court? :P
Seems the weed stigma isn’t as hardcore as it used to be. So, yeah, there are quite a few successful stoners around. I know someone who got dumped for a similar reason; only it was after he and woman moved across the country. Was the guy at the old firm or the new one? Did you end up running into him at work?
It’s fascinating the way you just described that, your passion for legal work really shines. So, what would blowing it in court look like? Have you had to represent any odd or funny clients yet? What about judges and other lawyers?
LMAO! Nice comeback! Okay, point taken :P Umm, what if it was because I was at Estadio da Luz cheering too hard for Benfica? Hopefully, our paths do cross someday. :)
Well, I wasn’t sure. This past season, many were put off by GoT’s violence against women (specifically rape), and more fan favorite deaths. IMO, after the fantastic scene/battle with the Night’s King, the plot seems to foreshadow Snow resurrected as some kind of unique white walker.
Yes, I saw “The Godfather” only 5-6 years ago myself. Great movie, but I never got around to seeing “Part II”, have you? I must confess that I prefer the energy of Scorsese’s “Goodfellas” (WATCH IT!) a little bit more.
The last movies I saw in theater were: “Mad Max: Fury Road” (Incredible action, Must watch!), “Jurrassic World” (Pratt and the dinosaurs were cool, but it retreads a lot of the original JP.), “Age of Ultron” (Okay, great villain), and “Ant-Man” (Actually, better than I expected, Great SFX).
Besides that, I watched a lot of kung fu movies this summer. Now, I share with you one of the greatest fight scenes ever! I’ve also watched the majority of the “Nightmare on Elm Street” series. The 1st and (to a lesser extent) 3rd films definitely live up to the hype. However, the 2nd film is a hilarious misstep with odd homoerotic undertones: Exhibit A, Exhibit B (Slightly scary, but you’ll laugh too), and Exhibit C (For no good reason).
Lol, Deadpool!! I’ve been a DP fan since high school, so I’m really looking forward to seeing his nonsense on the big screen. I’d return your gift with the trailer for “007:Spectre”, but I know you’ve already seen it by now, right?
I don’t really have an explanation for why I put myself in such a shitty position :/ Right now, anything I get isn't going to be impressive and will probably suck. Thanks, for the encouragement though.
Thanks for your concern. :) To answer your question: Yes/No
I had what’s called Mycoplasma Pneumonia or “Walking Pneumonia”. Apparently, it’s considered the “lesser” version of pneumonia and doesn’t usually require hospitalization. However, I developed a really bad case and it had impaired my breathing (felt like I was only breathing on one side of my lungs). So, that’s the primary reason I went in.
The doctors stressed that it would be long road to complete recovery. After I got cleared, I started feeling sharp pain (like a knife in my lungs) in the right side of chest. I was told this was due to a healing inflammation process, but thankfully it went away.
After my 2nd CT Scan, I was told that there was a remarkable improvement in my lungs, but also still some small spots of inflammation (so, it put me at “98%”). Two weeks ago, I took a lung function test and was told things are generally normal.
I’m also having an issue with an elevated heart rate (doc can’t figure it out). Now, I’m booked to see a cardiologist late next month.
I take it your former bosses wanted you to keep doing all their “dirty work” work? Did you leave and apply to your new firm? Nice to know you haven’t lost your sense of resilience. So, what happened with the relationship? Are you still frustrated with the “lack of maturity” in men? Don’t be ashamed, I can see how all of that would be stressful.
Well, I’m glad you enjoy it. If I recall correctly, you wanted to use your words to defend peoples’ rights. Do you feel like you’re accomplishing that? Do you get nervous addressing the court at all? Does “not my cup” mean you won’t spring me out of jail if I ever get drunk and wild in Lisbon? :P
Yes, “AoT” is very violent (mostly people being eaten), but I’m sure it’s nothing a fan of “God of War” and “Spartacus” couldn’t handle. :P
Sasuke and Sakura do indeed get married and it’s just as awkward as when they were kids. They also have a daughter named “Salad” of all things. Yeah, Naruto marries Hinata and they have 2 kids. I enjoyed the manga’s ending, it was cool to see Naruto win the village’s admiration and become Hokage. However, I also feel the story was getting a little convoluted, and that the author wrapped everything up a bit too cheerfully.
Lol, Sailor Moon is that bad? Well then, I guess I’m saved!
Are you still watching GoT, or have the deaths and violence turned you off? What movies have you watched lately?
Honestly, it hasn’t really been going at all. In January, I couldn’t even get an interview for a security job with a current employee vouching for me. After that, I got sick……(and I think it was at the championship parade too) :/
Ivy ;) You know, I almost thought you were gone for good this time. Me? My winter almost entirely sucked, but I’m much better now.
You did mention not being around as much, but it’s nice to hear from you every now and then. If you don’t mind me asking, what made last year so difficult for you?
Aside from the Patriots finally winning the Super Bowl again, my winter sucked big time. Boston received the most snowfall (like 3-4 blizzards) in city history, so that meant constant shoveling. After that, I caught a really bad pneumonia and had to be hospitalized for the first time ever. I spent an entire week on oxygen tanks, intravenous machines, and a heart monitor. :(
Congrats on becoming lawyer (is it everything you hoped it would be?). So, is civil litigation anything like the disputes on TV court shows? Have you worked any criminal cases?
That’s tough to say since I haven’t watched much anime either. I’d recommend the awesome “Attack on Titan”, but it might bore a shoujo girl like you :P The Naruto manga finally ended, and you may find it funny to know Sasuke grows up to become a terrible husband and father. BTW, does this mean I have to watch Sailor Moon Crystal now? :P
So, what’s a lawyer do for her 27th b-day? Yeah, I can’t really say anything remarkable about 30, sorry.
Espero poder comentar contigo a série nessa altura!

I'll get back to the other comment later.
BTW, Only a couple more before they drag your ass down to the old biddies' knitting circle! :P

I couldn't find a good card, but this will do nicely.
