In a rare case of Internet-Necromancy I shall now post on what appears to be a nearly dormant medium...

They've been working up Rei and Takashi rebuilding their childhood romance since the very first episode. They cannot back out of that commitment, or if they do it will be unjustifiable and insulting.

Saeko is a close friend to Takashi at best, although Saeko may have a crush on him after the events in the temple. It also appears to be more of a comforting gesture rather than a kiss in that scene as well.

Plus IDGAF if you like a character more than another, your "shipping" is baseless and more about your preferences rather than what is actually happening.
