In official history you can find everything on wiki. It says he was married and had 2 sons. Tho the anime itself dont have much common with real people - just a few well-known facts.

Another point..

Not sure about you but I am sure Sanada Yukimura isn't the type to abandon his comrades in battle while fleeing for selfish reasons. Perhaps, I am not too sure about Sanada Yukimura but..

When low-ranking members of the Date clan were abducted by Matsunaga, Katakura Kojuurou along with Date Masamune even in their injured state and also that it is pretty risky to risk their lives to save low-ranking officers that they can easily draft again, yet they went to save them along with their precious treasure. It depends on how you look at it. Family and kids are important but your comrades are also very important, especially during the times of Sengoku.

Sanada Yukimura does not have any kids or a wife during his battle against Oda Nobunaga in the anime or game, I believe. The guy was just fighting for Shingen Takeda and their clan. More over, they just couldn't let Oda Nobunaga win as that it will result in needless bloodshed. If you do not have a family or kids, then it wouldn't matter, right?

Of course, during the period of Sengoku. There were tons of men who fought to death even with a family and kids. Its just that it can't be helped.. Also, many of these good men also end up killing other good men in battle as that they were fighting on different sides and it also couldn't be helped..
