First of all:
What is a simulcast?
A simulcast is when a licensed sub of an anime is streamed shortly after it airs in Japan.
Why should we care about supporting them?
Simulcasts are the only way that fans can get their anime fast and support creators. Creators get no profit or control with fansubs. Even if you had to wait a week for your anime, wouldn't you rather support creators?
What about money
Simulcasts don't have to cost you a thing. They are ad supported, so you don't have to pay unless you want to. If you do want to you can get a membership that allows you to watch it sooner in higher quality or you can buy a digital copy of the anime. (depending on where you're watching it)
What about things that don't have a simulcast? What if the simulcast is really bad?
If a series doesn't have a simulcast then there's not much you can do about it. But the old rule still applies that if you like it you should support the licensed release. If the simulcast has a bad sub then you should speak up about it and make sure it's known that fans don't want that, even if speaking up means watching a fansub instead of the official version. Still, at least give the official version a shot before you turn to something that doesn't benefit creators.
Where can simulcasts be found?
That's a big part of what this club is for. We will list what is being simulcast, where it can be found, and what episode the simulcast is up to.
Ah! But the links aren't working!
Some of the links don't work outside the US. It would help is you posted or messaged me about what wasn't working so I can see about finding a link that does work. However, since I'm in the US there's only so much I can do without help from someone who isn't. Any help would be appreciated.
What if something is being simulcast, but isn't on the list?
By all means, make a post about it. Be sure to include where it's being released. It'll be added to the list asap.
Last but not least:
Can I make a new banner/club pic/avatar for the club?
Yes! I'm not a graphic designer. I support anyone who would like to try making any of the above for the club. If you do, make sure that the picture is of an anime that is or has been simulcast.
