Tennis no Oujisama: Zenkoku Taikai-hen

Freshman tennis prodigy Ryouma Echizen and the Seishun Academy Boys' Tennis Team have finally reached the National Tournament, eager to fight for the championship title and claim it as their own.

Seishun's first match is against Higa Middle School, the Okinawa-based team labeled as the "dark horse" of the tournament. After watching Higa defeat their first round of opponents using dirty tactics, the Seishun team is determined to show them the value of a fair, hard-earned victory.

Awaiting the winners of the matchup in the quarterfinals is one of Seishun's old rivals: Hyoutei Academy, who are determined to restore their pride after the events at the Kanto Regionals. Hyoutei seeks to prove to everyone that they deserve to be at the Nationals despite only qualifying through a special invitation.

Tennis no Oujisama: Zenkoku Taikai-hen covers the beginning of the long-awaited National Tournament as Ryouma and the Seishun team meet foes of past and present, each with their own unique ideals on how tennis should be played!

Prince Of tennis national tournament:
Seigaku tennis club already have Tezuka buchou, so they're ready for the nationals!and Ryoma came back from America to support them.
And then, Oishi had a decision, all of the good players should play,so oishi had a deal with ryoma if he had a Love game to ryoma, then ryoma could play in the nationals.
....and in the end, ryoma won, so he'll play in the nationals.


.....This is a sequel to THe Prince of tennis, everybody who watched the prince of tennis should also watch this one... This will also bring you excitement and enjoyment while watching.!

...watch it ... and you'll know the whole story!!It's amazingly good!!~Trust me!

Mixed Feelings

Thanks to the reduced airing schedule, they were able to improve on the animation. And the tennis action once again reached new unbelievable heights. But what’s holding this show back fundamentally is the production decisions behind the show and its writing. Apparently only 16 teams are competing in this national tournament (it’s unclear if Seigaku was seeded) because all of a sudden the first round was the top 16. Then taking one half each of the production (6 episodes each) to do the top 16 and then the quarterfinals split down the middle by AN ACTUAL FILLER EPISODE!!! And the fact that the opening episode ... essentially makes the final episodes of the TV anime obsolete and unnecessary is just such a stupid production decision. You have to imagine that there’s at least 64 teams in the National tournament; what we want is to see Seigaku fight their way through, not automatically jump to the top 16. It is these decisions that prevent Prince of Tennis from being great as this should’ve been 26 episodes long minimum and yet…

I rewatched the entirety of the original Prince of Tennis, and also watched this entire OVA before coming to a conclusion: I don't like this show. It took over a hundred episodes, but yes, the only reason why I liked Prince of Tennis is due to nostalgia. I clearly was only able to rematch the orginal anime out of pure nostalgia, as watching the old episodes is like opening up an ancient crypt, the animation and story extremely outdated.
I give credit when credit is due: Most of Seigaku's cast of characters are well made, and they certainly have unique personalities. Each player has their strengths ... and weaknesses, their own quirks and special moves. Whatever it is about them, there's a lot of charm even over a decade later. The problem is actually the protagonist: Echizen.
He does not lose. I like OP protagonists when it's a gag manga, like One Punch Man, but honestly, it's so boring watching Echizen play. Every time I see Echizen losing, I think "well, the author is going to make Echizen overcome the obstacle or create a new move on the spot." There's no tension. Echizen. Will. Win. Every. Official. Game. He has no weaknesses. He's a freshman beating the best senior players in tennis. He will counter every technique, given time, and will always turn the tides. It's impossible for him to lose a game because he's got plot armor. The author makes sure he's untouchable at all times.
Echizen's personality is pretty fun. He's arrogant, kind of cold, but also can be amiable, and cherishes his teammates. However, that's only if his personality is paired with appropriate skill level. I really don't care that Echizen is a genius. He's the protagonist. He should be OP to an extent. However, that DOES NOT MEAN UNTOUCHABLE. It's poor writing. With losses, Echizen would be a more believable and loveable character. With a legendary win streak, he's kind of just a Gary Sue.
Whenever I see Echizen play, I root for him to lose. I want him to lose. I don't want him to win. Especially when he plays against characters that have been characterized and have their own ambitions. They're so much more human than Echizen ever can be.
Atobe's match against Echizen just sealed the deal. I'm done.
