Both animes using a group of main characters, they are also travelling together as Gekkostate in E7 and with Freeden in Gundam X. Jamil = Holland Tiffa = Eureka Garrod = Renton Ennil = Anemone …

Both feature Gundams from a war in the past used to fight again, with the main character being a member of a crew with a cool starship. Both also have the main character protecting a girl who is a love interest for him. IBO is much darker than AWGX though

This series resets the values of the UC timeline. Newtypes was just an ephemeral construct caused by war between human's who have opposing viewpoints on the evolution of mankind. Defining evolution only holds back the advancement of mankind, this Gundam was mind-blowingly deep. Super underrated

Conflict between Celestial Being and Earth Sphere Federation is similar to Vulture and United Nations Earth. Mecha action, drama, character development, and romance involved.

MC's wind up in conflict by getting involved with a mysterious girl and as well as joining a Freedom Fighter group to fight discrimination/oppression/tyranny. Guilty Crown takes a more darker and twisted approach where Gundam X takes a more normal approach. Notice some similarities in some characters especially their roles. -Ouma Shu-Garrod Ran -Inori Yuzuriha-Tiffa Adill -Gai Tsutsugami-Jamil Neate -Undertakers-Vulture

Similarly light-hearted, a story about surviving within a dystopia and trying to find meaning inside of it.

Contrary to the usual mech fights in space, in these series the action mostly takes place in the ocean. Which isnt as cool as space, but still worth watching.

A ragtag group of scavengers aboard a land-crawling ship explore a frontier landscape, often fighting with other factions using mecha. Both shows feature action, comedy, romance, and political drama in different doses.

Both are post-apocalyptic mecha series with teenage leads who get swept into adventuring across the wastelands left on earth. Despite their dismal settings, both shows manage to maintain a positive and lighthearted atmosphere with their endearing casts of characters.

Main group fighting to end wars with different objective (Ptolemy from Celestial Being whose role is to end armed conflicts whereas Freeden from Vulture fights to end the conflict between Earth and Colonies), group of characters fighting in Gundams, and a mysterious force behind the scenes are trying to get in the way.

Garrod and Domon are similar as well as fighting in a group of Gundams. The only difference is that in Gundam X, people fight for freedom and free from discrimination and in G Gundam, people fight in tournaments to rule the world.

In each anime, the protagonist is an immature and loud-mouthed, yet well-meaning, young boy who grows up and learns to view the world less selfishly after a mysterious girl happens into his life (Kouichi encounters Emi, while Garrod is hired to rescue Tifa). And in both instances, the girls bestow upon them an awesome mobile armor (Kouichi is made a co-Factor of the Linebarrel, and Tifa shows Garrod where to find the long-forgotten Gundam X). Both anime also focus a lot on the characters, and not so much the political warfare of the battling mecha.

The setting is almost exactly the same, and the plots are somewhat similar. The characters have some major differences, though. Gundam's characters were more likable, and the characters were more believable.

It's similar to the protagonist that protects one girl and loves in the end of the story. Garoad and Coud had similar attitude but it differences in the situation of the story. Tifa and Ren are quiet person and doesn't understand the feelings of human. So they are the love pair with the same promise to fulfill.

Nadia and Gundam X share a lot of similarities. Although Nadia lacks giant robots, but it's also about a normal boy and a mysterious girl with mysterious power who meet in a fateful encounter, become part of a ship piloted by a captain with sad past involving war and death. The young couple and the ship crew all try to survive the world and fight evil alone to make a better world.

Young protagonists start with early development, mysterious girl whose role is meant later, organizations fending off world destruction, mysterious force behind the scenes seeking something far greater, and mecha action as well.

Earth vs Colonies, protagonists are similar (Shinn and Garrod), Groups fighting for freedom (Minerva Crew and Freeden Crew) against tyrannical organizations (UNE and Space Revolutionary Army and Earth Alliance/Blue Cosmos). Twists occur and something behind the scenes is seeking far greater than just ending the war.

Similar plot (Earth vs Colonies vs Freedom Fighters), discrimination, mecha action, both protaganists get wind up in the war (Garrod and Kira) and both fall in love with the opposing race (Tiffa and Lacus), similar mecha designs, mecha action packed, people with powers (Newtypes and Coordinators), and an evil force is scheming to to do something evil......

Both shows have similar plot (Earth vs Colonies) as well as "Freedom fighters" Cast and a group of Gundams as well. Mecha design are almost similar in terms of Gundams and the action is great as well.

Both show's protaganists (Lelouch and Garrod) involve with the conflict by meeting a mysterious girl (C.C. and Tiffa) and would later fight for freedom from discrimination packed with powers (Geass and Newtype) and Mecha Action (Knightmare Frames and Moblie Suits).
