Being blatantly ignorant is a simple way of showing someone that you could care less about what they think. The fact that I could call you 'retarded' whenever I want is evidence of that. Evident from the majority of shows that you've rated highly, its reasonable to say that you're stuck in the 2000's era with no sense of taste or modernity.
Even your username and profile picture scream "I'm an insufferable cunt with no social skills". I can see how I'm being hypocritical with me previously stating that I "could care less about [what you think]" and then proceeding to type this reply, but seeing how you've taken time out of your mundane existence to reply, I would assume that there's no problem in me doing that same thing.
P.S. >"you don't even need to scroll down"
Yes... yes you do. To view Gurren Lagann on YOUR profile you must scroll down to 'Favourites' and click that arrow tab which allows you to see Gurren Lagann listed near the bottom of your profile. Acting retarded on purpose doesn't help your case.
don't care, your still a pedo. I didn't bother to look at all your top rated shit anime so I didn't spot Gurren Lagann in your list. So if anything, you're still a pedophile. GG GN EZ win.
It's a shame, I honestly think the visual design of a lot of the characters was pretty good. It's a shame they were all written off a template with stock lines. I've heard this complaint elsewhere, but even the fights didn't have a good ebb and flow in terms of the dialogue and action. As in the hero says something and the villain loses their cool and starts losing the fight or whatever. It was just talk smash talk smash, etc.
It's true that there isn't much outside of character antics. Someone compared Konasuba to Always Sunny and I felt like that's kind of accurate. It's kind of nice to watch a bunch of self-interested people being the worst versions of themselves while failing upwards. I think the ecchi stuff is as tiresome as it is in any show. It's sometimes kind of funny, but often it's just the same joke again without much charm or character. I feel like they're almost being ecchi ironically sometimes. I do think the chemistry of the voice actors is good and that there are some good moments. I can't speak for Slayers, I've never seen it.
Sure, I'm not really too interested in Gundam though (just saying because most of your highly rated shows that I haven't seen are Gundam). It seems kind of hard to get into and I'm not huge on mecha, I love Eva and Gurren Lagann is great, but mecha as a genre has always felt kind of cold to me. I'd like to watch Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu, but it seems like a pretty big time investment. I'll give Stand Alone Complex a go first. Fair, my ratings are pretty subjective. A lot of them are over-inflated by emotion or having been really impressed when I originally saw them.
Hey, I thought your review of Promare was accurate and hilarious. The disappointed teacher-like tone it had was pretty funny. I think most people read it as being a bad lgbtq film rather than a racism film. The term "burnish pride" in particular begs that juxtaposition. It's also something you can hide, but is an inherent and important aspect of their being which is kind of a gay metaphor. Thinking about it Lio has a very feminine design which works with the metaphor. I generally liked the visuals enough to enjoy the film, despite the boring characters, obvious plot points and stupid plot developments.
After I read your review I came on here and happened to see (in your Last Anime Updates) that you'd rated KonaSuba 4/10, then noticed it was the specials rather than the actual show and became curious about what you rated the show proper. I genuinely laughed out loud when I saw you'd given all of it 4/10. Not because I think your opinion is wrong, just because it's funny to keep going with it if you think it's bad. Anyway, thanks for a laugh and a good review. I'm going to give your favourites a look at some point (because I loved Tatami Galaxy and really liked Haibane Renmei) and you seem to have super high standards so it should be interesting at the very least.
Very interesting read. You've probably no doubt figured out, but my ratings are very much to my preferences (subjective basis). Like, my 4th favorite anime is Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou. Yet it's plagued with issues near the end of its run and even before then. Yet inspite of everything, I still give it a 10 because it ticks all of my boxes & achieves everything I want out of an anime & then it does some more. I will admit that I'm a very generous rater (possibly to a fault). I have given like 56 shows a 10 I think (granted, some being multiple seasons/entries like 3-gatsu no lion S2 or Kizumonogatari 2-3 as some examples). But yeah, I'm pretty generous with my ratings. I'm with you on valuing the story & characters though. If I don't like the characters of something, it's practically guaranteed that I'm not going to like the show in question.
Would you mind explaining to me how you go about rating shows? Because I see that City Hunter is at the top of your favorites list but you have it a 6.
I don't know if you'll come back online to see this or not. But in spite of the fact that I didn't agree with a majority of your promare review, I enjoyed reading it. I respect that you actually put into the effort to give a well though-out critique of the series that gets to the point in a timely manner. Good job
Thank you, I can deal with someone being a prick if I get some good recommendations out of it! I just finished Trigun by the way, I watched it because it was the only one you mentioned in that review that I had not seen. So glad I did, I really enjoyed it. Would have been a 10 for sheer enjoyment if the pacifist thing wasn't so in-your-face preachy sometimes.
I didn't even start actually filling out my MAL list until a couple years ago and I still come across things I forgot I watched, so I definitely feel ya, it's a bitch but may as well take pandemic time to do it.
You have some unusual favorites, I tend to agree so we have very similar taste. I rarely see Parasyte mentioned and that's an amazing anime, and definitely never seen Haibane Renmei and Kaleido Star on anyone's favorites either. They are both among my favorites. I considered both of them for my fave list but 5 is too piddly... really unfair to not have categories for top picks.
Anyway I am just here from the Promare review, I ended up watching it in spite of that review and now I regret it... just got a headache, and a terrible plot where the actual story could have fit into 30 minutes but got stretched out with flashy battles for 2 hours. It would have been good in the theater, because eye candy is all it had to offer. I will check out your other anime ratings, I have a hard time finding anything decent at this point.

Anyway, I partially agree with you, but I don't think it's so terrible to be worthy of a 3
