Synopsis

As a child, Moritaka Mashiro dreamt of becoming a mangaka, just like his childhood hero and uncle, Tarou Kawaguchi, creator of a popular gag manga. But when tragedy strikes, he gives up on his dream and spends his middle school days studying, aiming to become a salaryman instead.

One day, his classmate Akito Takagi, the school's top student and aspiring writer, notices the detailed drawings in Moritaka's notebook. Seeing the vast potential of his artistic talent, Akito approaches Moritaka, proposing that they become mangaka together. After much convincing, Moritaka realizes that if he is able to create a popular manga series, he may be able to get the girl he has a crush on, Miho Azuki, to take part in the anime adaptation as a voice actor. Thus the pair begins creating manga under the pen name Muto Ashirogi, hoping to become the greatest mangaka in Japan, the likes of which no one has ever seen.

Despite being listed primarily as a romance, that aspect of Bakuman is actually its weakest. This is to be expected, of course. After all, the target demographic is shounen. Drama and romance usually thrives when there are deep interactions between the characters or a complex story. If that were the case, the story would be marketed for older demographics. For a shounen, this romance is acceptable. For older audiences, it is too simple, shallow, unrealistic and uninteresting.

However, Bakuman is strong in other aspects. Watching it gives the feeling of watching a classic-superhero-action-shounen anime. It's about competing with others, forging rivalries and friendships and striving to ...

Mixed Feelings
Overall pretty mediocre for such a high rated anime. The beginning seems promising but it soon fumbles and drags on till the end. Mashiro is one of the most unlikeable MCs. His character is way too arrogant and narcissistic for you to empathize with his journey. Takagi is another generic sidekick with no personality of his own other than being an MC asslicker. Takagi is supposed to be the main writer here and yet you see Mashiro often going off on his own, lashing out against his only "friend" for the most foolish reasons. Except for a corny childhood fantasy of a future marriage, there's ...

I thought i would enjoy it while watching it because of the MAL score but i got disappointed.

That was the most sexist anime i have ever seen in my whole life. I thought it would get better about the sexism it has on the next episodes but no it just went worse. The first episodes was good and amusing if you avoid some parts in it. But the last 6-7 episodes were too boring i couldnt stand them.

The anime is about making a manga but Mashiro doesn't even want to be a mangaka. He just do it for marrying with a girl in his ...
