A lot of the same themes: crests, ancient mysteries, puzzles, enormous castles, and masked villains.

Both anime feature a genius detective who must investigate a strange case, which might involve supernatural forces.

In both you watch a 'genius' puzzle solver solve the puzzles for you.

Both are really good and faithful movie adaptions of their respective source material. They also both have stories that are completely original, and not directly taken from one of the games, so if you’re a longtime fan of either, you’ll still enjoy them.

Also a Professor Layton related property. Puzzels and characters are used in the same way.

it's about music and some characters are a lil bit alike.

The power of songs is important in both of the anime, and both anime also have people who want to abuse the powers and turn music into a weapon of mass destruction. Additionally, along the way, the main characters of both the anime go on a journey to follow their destiny and make important friends along the way. Therefore, if you like the plot and theme of one these, you'll surely like the other one too!

Similar style and music. Main characters of both look similar as well because they both wear large top hats.

Both anime feature a main protagonist who is seeking to a complicated puzzle. Also, both deal with kingdoms, castles, traps and shady villains. They are also very entertaining and have some wacky action.
