Similar characters (google image TTGL and Needless), ridiculously epic fights. Needless has more fanservice and non-sensical plot though but more funnier. Gurren Lagann had characters you've come to care for, but unfortunately this was not the case in Needless.

Both have over the top fighting scenes, post apocalyptic universe, fanservice and hilarious characters. The 'villans' are a group of four with a leader. Kill la Kill has Imayoshi's special touch in animation where as Needless certainly influenced by Gainax but not as crazy as Kill la Kill

Alter Users or Needless . . . The Lost Ground or the Black Spot . . . Hardly much difference between the two.

Similarities: Hotblooded ecchi with an antihero over the top protagonist. Both have plenty of trope busting, and trope exaggeration. Manly men doing manly things. Differences: Needless lacks the harem or romantic relationships almost completely, It has plenty of women though.

The premise are extremely similar to each other as both deals with people with supernatural abilities that are born after a mysterious event. However, whereas Darker than Black is more seinen and SF, Needless is much more shounen and action oriented.
report Recommended by wakka9ca
Both have the power to copy other powers.

If you like post-apocalyptic fiction, then you'll like both shows.
report Recommended by robfoster
Both series features a lot of action and drama. The main male protagonist in both series are also tough, independent, and strong. Both series has a great story with insightful characters. They also feature supernatural elements involving the story that has a similar atmosphere.

They both go for completely over the top insane action. Dead Leaves has 100% action and is never boring even for a minute. Needless has a lot of fanservice but too many dull parts and lame attempts at story telling and a lot of DBZ-type stuff where two guys talk about their power levels for hours before fighting. They're both good though.
report Recommended by JuicyBuddha
Both of these anime’s have magic in them and A similar character and there is humor along with it all.
report Recommended by Elayrwenchick
Sort of the same type of fighting action, especially with the dopplerganger named Eve. With her ability to transform to anything, like change her hand to metal.
report Recommended by fanlp3
Both seem to be generic battle-shounens at first with epic over-the-top fights...but soon you will find out they are actually seinen anime and for a good reason, becasue these are two epic action anime I'd recommend adults to watch
report Recommended by BerrakBurcu
Genetically enhanced people fighting with crazy action. Both originate from lab experiments
report Recommended by yemsols
They're both so full of anime clichés that you almost start to wonder whether they're actually parodies. They're not.
report Recommended by Firesui
Both shows are overall cool fightings, with awesome and almost impossible random fightings, as if one fight ends, another come: packed with loads of action. Main characters are similar in some ways: Princess Alita is soft-spoken, shy and helpless, just like Cruz, but both have strong thinking abilities and both are inspired by their best teammate, Falis and Blade respectively. Additionally, both Falis and Blade LOVES fighting, but for a cause. Not only that, Murder Princess have the overall considerably gory and 'moe' attitude (without ecchi scenes) just like Needless, but the only wasted difference is that Murder Princess ends of too abruptly when compared  read more

The humor in both shows are similar. Both shows have the feel of being shonen-parodies and aimed at a slightly older audience. Not quite seinen but not far off.
report Recommended by Malachron
I'm surprised no one has recommended this because they're similar in many ways. Both main characters do not have powers. A big void appeared in Needless (where only few can enter) and the same happened in Coppelion where a meltdown occurred and only few can enter. Both also involve a disease or epidemic.

- post-apocalyptic theme - heavy metal ost - mad and GAR (it's not only about muscles, but more about behavior) characters - pretty similar atmosphere - even if Needless more about super-power battles, action (and comedy) feels much alike in some way

Both Needless and Armed Girl's Machiavellianism are fun, dumb action anime with a badass MC and lots cute girls in their casts of characters. Don't expect a deep, original story out of either of these, expect action and fights that give you something to get hype about, ridiculous over-the-top situations to give you something to laugh at, and a good amount of waifus and fanservice. If you liked any of those things about one of these shows, you may find yourself enjoying the other as well.

While they don’t look that similar, Needless and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt have some similarities. Both have that Adult Swim feeling to them, and have a similar blend of comedy and fanservice. The characters are similar as well, with Panty being similar to Eve and Garterbelt somewhat to Adam Blade. The art styles are similar as well. But both aren’t without their differences. Needless has more of a plot and has a lot more action, while Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt is more of a comedy. Both have a similar audience in mind, however, hence the recommendation. Check them both out!

They were both animated by Madhouse and are parodies of action shounen anime yet are considered seinen albeit these two anime do indeed feel shounen at times. Additionally, both series have awesome characters, superpowers, and a “pervasive level of battles despite incorporating too much comedy”. If I forgot to tell you, the abundance of action sequences is accompanied by fast pacing and kick-ass rock music, so if you are looking for that then you will surely find both One Punch Man and Needless to meet your expectations.

The mains guys are both extremely powerful Both series have lots of fan service

Needless and Kanokon similarities: - Both have a younger boy involved in the story. - Both have lots of fan service. - Both have characters with strange powers. - Both have students and a school they go to. Although, Needless has more action (which is always fun to have) and less romance than Kanokon, it was still a good anime, and just by the ending theme song i knew it was ecchi. Hope I Helped!

"Where have I heard that beginning narration before? Oh yeah, Needless!" Aside from similarities in the intro, these shows also have a sense of humor in common. Needless is like Senyuu with ecchi and full-length episodes.

Both anime is very over the top, and both contains a lot of GAR(but Zero is more GORE, where Needless is the rather more beat the crap outta type) Also both has some ecchi moments, and the "call out your attacks" type. I say that if you liked Needless ad wanted something far more darker in its comedy, and action try Zero. n my opinion it would satisfy those who wants a lot of action in a anime then plot.
report Recommended by KaminasTheNama
both have very strong characters both have good action both the main female characters are somewhat close to male character both have human experiment both have some betrayal both the main antagonist have a group both the antagonist can absorb humans life both the main antagonist don't care about their allies or kill their own allies or use them as Pawn

Giving a good oldskool laugh mixed with funny moments and good magical fights, one is more supernatural and more violent than the other storywise en development from char. is just funny

If you like battles, conspiracies and explosions, these are like the Citizen Kane of blowing shit up.
report Recommended by robfoster
Both have an apocalypse in tokyo, with a hole type thing. In deadman wonderland there's a red hole, and in needless there's a black hole. Also, people gained powers from the mysterious hole and throughout both series people with these powers try to kill one another. They are both very interesting as well and Both have a lot of profanity, if that floats your boat, then you'll probably enjoy both of them.
report Recommended by dakotasapphire
They both have big muscular guys with super powers fighting in totally ridiculous and entertaining ways. They also have a similar style of story telling where the aforementioned muscle guys spend half the episode discussing power levels before beating the crap out of each other.
report Recommended by JuicyBuddha
People with supernatural power, fights, HUGE amount of fanservice
report Recommended by Gokudo-kun
While Needless is a battle series, unlike Sora no Otoshimono, they do share some similarities; They both have a huge amount of audacity, they're both full of pretty girls, the mains are complete perverts and the atmosphere of those series is constantly shifting from serious to funny, even at inappropriate times.
report Recommended by PenDraco
Both very wacky shows with lots of good humor.
report Recommended by CNProf
Both of these anime are fast-paced feature a lot of cheesy, over-the-top action and parody situations often found in shounen anime. These anime also have a similar cartoony art style. Also, both female leads (Honey in Re: Cutie Honey and Eve in Needless) have some sort of transformation ability. Re: Cutie Honey has more ecchi in it, to the point of full nudity.
report Recommended by Rosa_FOEtida
On the first few episodes, Needless might fool you into thinking that it's just another average shounen series, however, Adam (main character in Needless) quickly changes from his quiet, all-tsukkomi-role in the first few episodes to a more irreverent, questionable behaviour very simmilar to Bobobo's. If you liked the unpredictable, non-sequitor humour of Bobobo, you'll definitely be reminded of it a few times while watching Needless. Side notes: The action/battles are more or less "serious" in Needless, while you'll find even more non-sequitor in the battles in Bobobo. Adam Blade and Bobobo have the same voice actor. Fanservice seems like a common thing in Needless.

If you like over-the-top characters look no further. Needless makes fun of every shounen anime you've ever seen and although Muteki Kanban Musume has less characters, all of them come off as likeable, especially the heroine Onimaru Miki.
report Recommended by CNProf
Well, actually needless is similar with DMC the game. Needless is about two brothers-enemys with amazing power, enjoying their fights to the highest point. The difference is while Dante from DMC is keeping his cool Blade from Needless is screaming and laughing all the time while fighting
report Recommended by Kamnum
If you like fighting then you will love this show so much fighting and blood!
report Recommended by Bleachway
There is a lot of action in both the animes. It has a same sence of humor/romance
report Recommended by Epictabby
The character design is very similar. And also you enjoy watching all the pisodes.
report Recommended by Love_Diva
Obviously both over the top action man-fights, with occasional women fights. But most importantly, both have fighting with ATTACK NAMES though Needless is more comedic
report Recommended by LemurrQQ
Both shows are pretty humorously crafted shows where people engage in some sort of martial arts against each other, and you're sure to like both.
report Recommended by robfoster
Both of these have a really similar sort of atmosphere, I can't really put my finger on it, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with the art, the futuristic Western setting, and the comedy thrown in to each episode.
report Recommended by robfoster
It seems me that esper abilities in Index/Railgun are very similar to Needless's abilities here. And Touma's "Imagine Breaker" is as unique as Adam's "Memorisation".
report Recommended by sgtXn
Fighting in the desert, while still managing to cram in fanservice all over the place.
report Recommended by robfoster
Both series have lots of comedy and involve fighting. Along with the humor both series still have a good story behind it.
