Handsome office workers becoming closer to one another and overcoming their own personal struggles, working through their slightly complicated relationship with the other person. A key difference though is that Cherry Magic is a BL/romance and My New Boss is Goofy (fluffy as it is) is not, and is simply a slice of life.

Both couples have one guy who knows he is gay and is interested in the other and another that is unsure he is into guys and is inexperienced in being with another guy. Given is abit sadder with one of the character's sad backstory, but Cherry Magic does not have really any sad aspect, just the idea of one of the guys only really being seen as the perfect guy and never for who he really is on the inside. Both animes show the main couples progressing and get together, but they also both show side couples that also progress throughout the anime.

Another BL anime where the main character is unsure of his feelings and the ML is very forward with them. Instead of an office, this takes place in a high school, with characters who share a love for BL manga. Adachi and Miyano are similar characters, with the only difference being Miyano's lack of telepathy and being interested and embarrassed by his love of BL manga.

The two main male MC's are similar in personality. You had one that is mister perfect that everyone wants to be with or be around and the other is more in the shadows as a helper, but often overlooked and taken for granted. In both anime, mister perfect takes notice of all the help the overlooked male gives to others and is rather happy to be around him more so than any females.
