Hikikomari Kyuuketsuki no Monmon

In a world where death is not permanent, Terakomari "Komari" Gandesblood has been a self-proclaimed professional shut-in for the past three years. As part of the noble Gandesblood lineage, she once tried to meet the expectations of her family. However, as a vampire who cannot use magic or consume blood, she soon gave up on becoming an imperial general like her ancestors. Unfortunately, a misunderstanding with her father earns her the formidable position of one of the Seven Crimson Lords, the strongest fighters and generals in the Mulnite Empire.

Now, Komari must hide her lack of talent from the soldiers she commands, or they may attempt to overthrow her. Working alongside her newly-assigned maid, Villhaze, Komari manages to trick her unit of soldiers into believing she is a ruthless warlord and promises to conquer the world. But as more people come to admire Komari, her life is further threatened as a vampire from her past reappears with every intention to kill her for good.

'The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess' was totally an unexpected gem for me. The story takes us on a wild ride through this bizarre world where death is just a punchline, but the battles for power and honor? Dude, they're legit intense.

Komari, our main gal, she's like this pampered vampire with a heart of gold and these uncontrollable natural powers, ya know?

The narration style is like the author's letting you in on all the secrets. We know stuff Komari and her crew don't, which just amps up the tension as the story unfolds.

What makes this anime so dope is how it blends top-notch comedy ... with some gnarly violence. At first glance, you'd think it's just another light-hearted comedy, but then the characters start to grow on you, becoming more mature. You end up not just feeling for them but also getting hyped by all the action.

The downside? The story feels kinda all over the place. In just 12 episodes, it's like you get three mini-seasons 'cause every four episodes there's a new problem, climax, and resolution. It makes it seem like it's a simple tale when in fact, the characters have some deep layers.

'The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess' mixes ecchi, yuri, humor, and gore. What could possibly go wrong with a combo like that?

The Good: Awesome humor and deep character personalities.

The Bad: A short series with too many mini-stories.

IF I EVER HAVE A DAUGTER I want her to be as spoiled as Komari.

Mixed Feelings

A tough decision to make. This anime is clearly not for everyone from the start . It started out promising, and i got a laugh out of it quite a few times. But sadly, it really devolved towards the end. The animation quality also didn't do it any favours. Not to mention the world building is really sloppy,barely anything is explained, and titles are just thrown around for the hell of it. And those dark cores really play against the whole setup, since there's barely any sense of actual danger . Honestly this one would've been 10 times better if they just gave it ... a 18+ rating and went full in on the yuri harem fanservice. As it stands they tried too hard to deliver an intresting plot and tripped over it.

It's a watch mostly to kill time if anything. In that regard alone i guess it's worth it.

I will give my impression of the action ecchi anime disguised as a fantasy comedy, Here the ecchi is the yuri relationship between the characters. Honestly I'm confused about where this anime genre is going to be taken, it's unclear or ambiguous, because from the early episodes the action elements are already felt and at the end of the last episode there are more and more action elements, yes comedy only feels like it's at the beginning of the episode in the end of the episode comedy is forced by making the main character look even more stupid with his behavior, which should be in ... the final battle situation the main character is better off looking serious and cool but it doesn't happen, as a viewer of this anime I'm quite disgusted with this kind of plot. So there are many where the comedy elements are wrong in their placement. Yes I admit it's not easy to combine action and comedy genre anime, only a few great works have succeeded but not this anime. There are many mistakes that occur in this story but the most crucial ones are in the genre and concept of this anime story. And a common mistake in action genre works is that the main character is innocent and naive, made worse to look funny, and his intelligence is reduced, believe me this will not work in a 12-episode action genre work unless you have a lot of episodes to develop the character. It is true that in this story from the beginning of the episode to the end the development of the main character (Komari) does not go at all, it looks monotonous.
