Girls who suffered a given accident and gained the ability to see ghost and evil spirits go on about their new lives.

both deal with the theme of spirits, with violent scenes of horror.

Both shows are quite similar conceptually and aesthetically, being easily described as an urban detective fantasy based on Japanese urban legends and folklore. The main noticeable difference is that while both shows focus on young adults who discover that their friends have frightening knowledge and connections to the other world, Dark Gathering is more aimed at a teenage audience and a male POV, while Kaii to Otome is aimed at a more mature audience and tells the story from the perspective of a noticeably more older female lead.

Dealing with ghosts, spirits, curses in the animes have similar events. Team of young people trying to solve mysteries behind some strange phenomenon but in this world of darkness they are still new and inexperienced. Both of the anime have a little similar cover picture design and background theme. On the other hand the story on both of them are not similar. In "Dark Gathering" they are hunting bad spirits but in anime "Another" they are trying to avoid the bad phenomenon. Despite some difference these two can be matched to some extent.

Both series are horror and have grotesque depictions of the main characters while suffering. Also, the character designs are pretty similar to one another. Both anime try, kinda unsuccessfully, to include specs of comedy in between incidents without interfering with the main plot or the horror aspect though. Amazing gore and atmosphere in both.

Both feature a group who face evil spirits. In Gakkou no Kaidan, Amanojaku is a sealed spirit that helps the protagonists to face ghosts, just as in Dark Gathering the sealed spirits help the protagonists.

Extra terrestrial and unordinary things are shown in these two animes but it doesn’t stop there. They also show how to beat those phenomenon (such as: ghosts, evil spirits) Dandadan shows how two classmates team up to prove their own occult beliefs to each other and starts uncovering more mysteries. The same happens in Dark Gathering, where they face the unordinary. Despite having same setup, Dandadan has more friendly approach and shows comedy on the other hand Dark Gathering is more of a horror and dark settings - having much less comedy

Both anime have a very dark or creepy vibe with a cute looking main character, the difference is while Dark Gathering is dark, disturbing and horrific, with a cute main character that might scare you. Shadow House is dark and disturbing with a very not scary and cute main character, but instead of going a horror route, they took a more mystery and concealing the unknown route, Both are very dark in their own ways and combine their dark stories with light hearted comedy from time to time, if you like anime with dark themes and don't mind a mystery or a quite disturbing take  read more

Whilst the protagonists stay consistent, their daily occurrence with supernatural experiences seem to challenge different emotions, adventures and solutions.

Stay with me here for a second. This series follows a rag tag group of supernatural orphans lead by a shape-shifting racoondog. Their mission investigate the supernatural and need be exorcize ghosts and also outfox a kitsune police chief who wants to collect these weird powerful stones. And it's really dark about how it goes down. Very much same vibes but doubt it'll get a second season.

Dark themes, occultism heavy supernatural stories. Albeit the show is an anthology series and not a continuous story arc kind of series, itbpacks a punch. This series showcases some of the darkest japanese horror episodes I've ever seen and Dark Gathering has made me feel the same vibe at certain points. I think I actually like this more than any Junji Ito animes as a testimony to its ability to scare and unsettle you.

After death the bad spirits stay behind to haunt and some people in these animes can even see them and exorcise them. Even if "Mob psycho" and "Dark Gathering" have different focus but their basic story is the same. That is they are both a world of extraterrestrials. In Mob psycho, Mob can see and exorcise spirits using his psychic powers on the other hand in Dark Gathering Yayoi can see and capture them. So they are pretty comparable.

This anime has similar supernatural element with Dark Gathering. The MC can see spiritual creatures. However, the difference is that the horror element is not fully present in this anime, unlike Dark Gathering. This anime has more wholesome vibe.

A loli girl and a couple trying to deal with various evil spirits, ghosts, supernatural issues and hauntings, while also investigating as to why the various hauntings happened in the first place so as to properly resolve it. With the help of other spirits and their own powers. While both animes have their own comedic, lighthearted and dark moments. Dark Gathering was generally more grim while it's art and tone appearing to be light and humorous at times while In/Spectre have a more mature and serious tone and art but was generally more light hearted and less dark.

A girl trying to investigate various apparently supernatural events and resolve it. There's even a similar scenario case where they were investigating about a crazy girl doing killings due to her obsessive belief with the supernatural being able to help her.

Both are similar in terms of ghost stories / paranormal activities. In both, they engage in ghost hunting. In 'Dark Gathering,' they solve mysteries and hunt ghosts. Additionally, the characters (except the mc) love horror stories and enjoy exploring cursed places. In 'Ghost Hunt,' they solve mysteries and hunt ghosts as part of their job.

"Dr. Ramune: Mysterious Disease Specialist" is a captivating Japanese manga and anime series that seamlessly blends the supernatural and medical genres. The narrative follows Dr. Ramune, an enigmatic doctor with a knack for curing mysterious ailments that defy conventional medical explanations. Assisted by Kuro, the series unfolds as they encounter individuals afflicted with bizarre diseases, delving into the unknown to unearth the underlying causes. This anime has the supernatural and horror element present. Natsume is the MC and he can see ghosts in 4k and talk to them. The horror element present is average. It creeps you out just enough for you to experience what is it like to engage in spiritual beings but not as creepy as in Dark Gathering.

Both involve the occult and ghosts and the characters hunt them down and solve mysteries. The main characters are also college aged (except for Yayoi).
