Trigun: Stampede and Expelled from Paradise are post-apocalyptic, science fiction anime with plenty of action to keep things exciting. More remarkable, they are space western titles, which I can name maybe a dozen anime titles. Trigun: Stampede is undoubtably a very good anime series that surpasses the original adaptation when it comes to its storyline. Expelled from Paradise has its problems, but I didn't find them to hurt my enjoyment. When you remove all the anime movies tied to a series, it is probably in the top 100 anime movies on MAL.

Both are sci-fi set on post-cataclysmic planets (Noman's Land and Mars) with deserts and cities where various factions and bandits run wild. Each has a non-human protagonist (Vash, a plant and Rouge, a Nean) who teams up with humans in journalism/investigation professions (Naomi and Meryl).

Both shows are sci-fi series with stunning animation quality and visuals. Everything is accompanied with great direction, audio, and voice acting. Characters in both animes have unique designs and personalities differing from each other. Main cast consists of likeable characters, with each one of them having their own goals and dreams.

A blond and goofy red-jacket-wearing pacifist gun-fighting bullet-dodging haunted-by-their-past protagonist engages in epic action scenes while being followed around by their newly found dark haired sidekick who is eager to learn what the fuck the main character's deal is. Just an adrenaline pumping blast to watch.

The plot terrain is simliar (desert), cowboy type. Both have astounding animation, and cool Chaarcter design.

Both series are new adaptations of beloved sci-fi works with modernized character designs and CG animation.

Though the overarching story and characters' objectives are different, both are CG-animated shows featuring a group of wanted individuals on the run in a desert world with limited resources.

Trigun: Stampede and Appleseed Alpha are post-apocalyptic, science fiction anime with a megalomaniac antagonist. Trigun has an engaging storyline with stunning animation. Appleseed is a simple high octane action movie. Yes, their animation is mainly 3DCGI. If you are a 3DCGI hater then this isn't the recommendation for you. Studio Orange is a standout when it comes to quality 3DCGI and Trigun shows their continued improvement in the field. Appleseed Alpha uses 3DCGI like a video game publisher so it may become dated over time.

Bisco and Vash are branded as destructive outlaws pursued by the state for their crimes. Their personalities are very much different, but they exude main character energy. In their own ways, Vash and Bisco fight for humanity even though society blames them for its problems. Their resilience and tenacity are their greatest strengths. Sabikui Bisco and Trigun Stampede are great choices for a post-apocalyptic adventure that can balance comedy, action, and drama.

Both shows are reboots of their respective shows that are considered classics of the late 90s'& 00's era. They revolve around traveling, gunslinging and touches into stories about morality and exploring humanity.

• Similar setting in space after human migration from Earth • Both are heavily inspired by Western works, specially western movies • Both protagonists are extremely skilled fighters with a relaxed personality and a tragic past • Main characters travel and go on missions together • Action-heavy with a touch of humor and fair share of dramatic moments
