I'd recommend this anime to friends or others that like Martial Arts but mixed with some cyberpunk type genre. There are alot of martial arts anime's that are pretty much the same or similar. Swallowed Star I think is unique with its mixed genres, but still similar to its origins. That its done in 3D, which turns alot of people away; I personally don't have an issue with 3D anime's.

What I liked about it was the fact that, the MC of the anime doesn't become OP immedaitely. It gives consistant issues for the MC to understand & learn that, there's always someone stronger. Which ... makes the MC [????] his decisions carefully; Not just by using brute force.

Overall I thought it is very good anime.

I managed to finish season 1 after some struggles because I remembered the novel well. There were a lot of changes even if the events and the characters stayed more of less the same, but it still bothered me quite a lot. Now here we are at season 2. And right at the beginning, dropped at episode 3. I can power through some nonsense modifications but there is a limit. They stopped making what I would consider minor changes and are making huge ones and that I can't. A novel adaptation is supposed to at least somewhat follow the plot, not change whatever the f*** ... they want.

Making candice stronger and break top 100 when he was average in the story sure. But completely inventing an arranged marriage between Xu xin and him and a bet with luo feng hell no.

This anime shouldn't be called swallowed star, the statement about "based on the novel" is a fucking joke. I am really disappointed cuz I was looking forward to this.
