A ghost story filled with melancholy, teaching us about the meaning of life. A beautiful tale of a group of friends, met either by coincidence or fate, longing of a way to move on and express themselves. While their character relations are quite different, friendships and bonds are what it all ties down to. If you're down for some dramatic tearjerkers, this is for you.

Both are topics related to life and death. Similar character designs by Loundraw. Both of these are masterpieces. Highly recommend you to watch "Summer Ghost" if you like "Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai?".

-Both deal with similar supernatural such as time-traveling, etc. -Both animes give off a summer vibe type of anime. -They all revolve around 3 people who ended up becoming best friends with one another making heartwarming memories. -In both animes, they go through a lot of personal problems which causes a rift in their relationship, and lots of character development -both will make you cry and leave you wondering what to do with the rest of your life

Anti-suicide stories about coming of age. Miserable kids are suffering hard lives and at some point meet something supernatural. By helping those who already died they grow up and help themselves as well.

Both movies deal with a relationship between a young human and a ghost. They have a bittersweet melancholic vibe and explore the question what you really want to do in life.

- Both are mostly rooted in a “normal” world, with the exception of one major supernatural feature (The gravity inversion in Patema, and Summer Ghost speaks for itself.) - Both are stand-alone stories and don’t require any prior watching to understand - Both are beautifully animated with many flying (or falling, lol) sequences - Both involve a subtle romantic subplot that doesn’t detract from the overall experience even if you don’t like romance in films - Both have some rather large plot twists in relation to the main supernatural feature.

You would like Koe no Katachi if you liked Summer Ghost, it's both about a cruel reality that the main characters had to face during their teenage life

Both are slow supernatural shows that deal with suicide themes and many emotions. Both feature some similiar characters and are atmospheric

Two anime shorts dealing with existential crises. In Artiswitch, each episode introduces a new character that seeks out a witch to grant them a wish because they are unsatisfied with their lives. By discovering their hidden desires through their interaction with the witch, they often realize that self acceptance is the key to their happiness. In Summer Ghost, three teenagers become friends when they meet up to find the summer ghost. Through their friendships and the summer ghost, each character are able to face their existential crisis. Both anime approach this theme in a balance manner despite their short lengths.
