Platinum End

Both anime focus on people forced to kill themselves in order to determine the winner of the game.

Both are battle royale to become god of the world. Both have the mc falling for female god contender. 

The storyline behind both of them is exciting and to some point similar, however, how the stories manipulate their viewer differs a lot. Both of them contain action content that is unique to other ordinary action anime. 

A high school boy unwillingly joins a contest to become a god where he is forced to kill others. MC is granted a special power when he joins the contest and has help from a female character.

Both shows protagonists are dumb, black hair, crybaby boys, that somehow got unusual powers, that are related with the election of the new God of the world, other people also got this unusual powers and all this people must fight in this battle royale to get that accomplishment, also in both shows there are a girl that is really close to our protagonists, and will help them no matter what, even if it´s neccesary to kill someone for this accomplishment 

- Both anime have a group of people as god candidates. - They are given special powers in order to eliminate the other candidates to become god. - They both give a similar vibe where the main character is kind of normal and the rest of the candidates are really strange people.  

they both have same concept of within a group of selected god candidates the last one to survive becomes a god like a battle royale  

-Both have people who want to become god (god candidates) -They achieve it by killing other candidates -Some of them dont want to kill the other candidates and form an alliance  

Death-game scenario. Both involve the "competitors" that battle with each other until there is only one survivor. 

Platinum End can easily remind Death Note, especially for the premise. Both shows feature the main character receiving from a superior entity a power that is huge but can lead the user to abuse it for personal purpose, because it allows to take others life. In both anime is soon revealed that the main character is not the only one who gathered the power. Moreover the ability has a lot of rules and mechanics that can lead to scenarios of strategies, attacks and counter effects. In general both stories rely on clash of minds. The main difference is that the first MC is evil and has distorted morals, while the latter MC is genuinely innocent, and they have completely different purposes. Another important difference is that in Death Note the supernatural ability is given by an item, and it's based only on killing, while Platinum End features a set of abilities that include killing. I personally think that Death Note is more complex in term of mechanics and writing, in general significantly better, but I still find Platinum End a enjoyable watch and I would recommend it to anyone who liked Death Note.  read more 

if you've seen the first episode of platinum end you can agree with me: when i've seen an angel who follows the MC which has op superpowers i thought:"isn't it pretty similiar to ryuk and his death note?" well, the story keeps going following its vibe, so it's a dark and full of suspance show and you won't lack of cliffhangers  

Both these series share a similar premise in which we see our main character gain god-like powers. The source material of the two has been done by the legendary duo Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba, creators also to Bakuman and Hikaru no Go. Death Note is a known classic and a great entry anime, and though at the time of writing Platinum End has only one episode out, I expect it will follow in Death Note's steps and be the same.

These two animes have many similarities to each other. Even the appearance of the main character of both is similar to each other. Some of the supernatural things in these two are very similar. 

Not a complete rip off of death note but very similar in some ways. The story is interesting from the first episode. New episode weekly, good animation, and of course violence is included. 

The use of battle royale as it's plot point is the most noticeable similarity from both of these show. The characters here are "forced" to join in a death game in order to survive and win a precious price. Whether they willingly join or not. The characters are also given some superpower to help their journey. 

It's too similar because of a underrated mc and mind games11 

Has characters that gain some sort of otherworldly power upon losing hope in their lives, puts the characters into many life or death situations against one another, there is a clear line between the protagonist who has morals and the antagonist who doesn't, and the antagonist dabbles with publicity in society, as they are able to control media news/ communication to a degree. Also, a lot of the battles in both anime are psychological alongside physical, mostly because both series have protagonists who are completely new to fighting and dealing with intense situations. I would definitely recommend Inuyashiki if you liked Platinum End, or vise-versa! 

It's weird to describe it but they give the same feeling when you see them, of course, both deal with issues that would never happen in real life, but the feeling is the same. So surely if you like one you will like the other.
