murderous protagonists have a similar motive to become the god of their realm and form allies to reach that goal; there's a touch of possessive romance as well 

Both have a similar idea with a God candidate and are pretty "edgy" shows. The quirk of Future Diaries compared to Masks are quite different however the battle elements turn out to be quite similar 

some people has been selected to become a god. in order to become a god in both anime they have to fight for it. it's almost the same tipe of gore anime that maybe you looking for and also they have to find an answer to the mystery behind all of the nonsense in their world. 

It's similar in the battle royale sense. If you liked Tenkuu Shinpan, or vice versa I'm sure you'd like the ladder as well.  

Both about competing to win the title on being god. They both contain murder and annihilation between each other. Both of the main characters in Mirai Nikki and High Rise Invasion form allies. They may not be a romance but certainly have romantic interests contain. Mirai Nikki is a competition to see who will become the next god, just like High rise invasion where both animes both have devices that they could use during the game to gain advantages.  

Feels like a B-Movie version of Highschool of the Dead, its a 2021 anime with all the perks of a netflix budget, H.O.T.D also had a above average budget. 

Stories where the main character (s) goes from living a normal life to all of the sudden, being thrown in a bizarre situation with another enemy "race" (mask people for tenkuu and zombies for Highschool) and they have to survive. Similarly , both also happen to somehow find a way to mix ecchi elements with the horror genre in similar ways.  

same feeling, different setting - a lot of action, fighting - a lot of fanservice - plot is basic but makes sense  

Both contain gore, violent themes  

-Teenagers trying to save their lives - Making allies and finding out new foes - Gore - Fan service galore - Very strong but cheerful female lead  

Protagonist first organize then fight for live in modern day Japanese city. They use guns, bladed weapons, explosives and try to kill hostile party. Number of characters decreases as story progresses.  

While both series involve survival games, "High-Rise Invasion" focuses more on a surreal and dystopian setting with elements of psychological horror, while "Darwin's Game" has a more modern and technology-based premise. The tone and themes of the two series differ, with "High-Rise Invasion" featuring a sense of disorientation and dread in its setting, and "Darwin's Game" exploring the consequences of virtual reality and competition in the modern world.  

People being transferred into an alternate reality without any reason whatsoever. An alternate reality where the only rule is to survive. With it having a premise of "Man vs Man vs Nature", essentially telling a story of how a bunch of high school student survives the horror by fighting and enduring the system (aka nature) while simultaneously fighting themselves. Watching these series felt like bliss, a satisfying feeling as some scenes uncover with an unexpected shock that no one could expect.
