Kei and Yuri call themselves the "Lovely Angels", but everybody else calls them the "Dirty Pair". Why? Because there's lots of collateral damage coming with each dispatch. Both shows feature two main characters constantly teasing each other about their looks and men, a desperate boss and awkward villains. If you like PSG not for it's animation or the uncouth jokes, the Dirty Pair is what you're really looking for.

A funny show about women saving the day.

These animes have a similar sci-fi-action premise although Cobra is more mature in tone & features aliens. Dirty Pair is obviously the more feminine of the two, but still delivers on action, adventure, comedy & a wild side. Both Cobra & Dirty Pair are mostly episodic which work watching both series side to side. Cobra has the better action but in terms of partners (Cobra & Lady) Dirty Pair definitely has that chemistry done better. It should also be noted that both franchises have multiple ovas, movies & animes to further explore in the sci-fi universe of adventurous action.

aBoth series have an all female cast as their main characters. Dirty Pair has a very high comedic content; as well as plenty of action and explosions. Bubblegum Crisis has plenty of action; with more of a serious drama type feel. Both shows have an abundance of gunfire and excessive use of explosives; whatever it takes to get the job done.l

Dirty Pair is the 80's series and concept inspiration for most of the following space heroines after them and Kiddy Grade is one that shares a lot of similarities being the adventures of a couple of agents working for an organization that solves cases or problems, ones working for the WWWA and the others for the GOTT. Both female couples have a strong bond and are very skilled complementing each other with contrasting personalities. And to spice it, both series have fan servicing elements having attractive girls in revealing outfits.

While completely different in setting, the somewhat goofy tone combined with action is very similar. The leads are quite similar too, with a flippant attitude towards their goals and tendency to get distracted by food (Lina) and vacations (Kei and Yuri) And they all don't seem to care how many things get destroyed in their wake, they're all queens of destruction.

Episodic action comedy with elements of detective work and lots of girls.

Both series contain strong female leads, futuristic setting and contain action scenes. Both are mostly episodic in nature, with one story not directly impacting the next (for the most part). Both follow leads that work for organizations that seek to fight crime, though 009-1 has more political implications. 009-1 is certainly darker and more serious in tone to Dirty Pair, which is more on the comedic side. 009-1 is also slower in pacing, and I couldn't really watch more than one episode at a time, while I ended up more binge-watching Dirty Pair. I found Dirty Pair to be a satisfactory replacement for 009-1, as the  read more

Main characters of these two anime are "Unluckily Lucky". The "lucky" part is that they always survive their missions. The "unlucky" part is the apocalyptic amounts of collateral damage. In The Choujo the cause of the collateral damage is the superhuman strength of the main character. In Dirty Pair is the fame (or infamy) of the main characters that causes their enemies to overreact and in consequences they have no other choice than to use a deadly force.

Friendship or love between guns for hire-women, improving the usual action with empathy and intelligence.

Both are lighthearted episodic sci-fi series that follow the misadventures of Trouble Consultants/Contractors, as they take assorted jobs around the galaxy and complete them with some foolery along the way.

80's anime about a duo of women that get in trouble in futuristic world. Just that in Punky Funky Baby the trouble gets more R-18 rated, and it almost seems like Punky Funky Baby is an intentional parody of Dirty Pair.

Two episodic soft sci-fi shows made by Sunrise. Both set in space. Both about down-on-their-luck space mercenary types getting into misadventures that rarely pay off. Similar feel and mechanical design.

Both shows share the same universe, but the tone in both is very similar as well, if you've enjoyed one of them, it's highly likely you'll appreciate the other.

Despite their different genres of science fiction and ghost stories, these anime contain women main characters who crave money, danger and excitement while displaying humorous moments in their episodic tales.

It's a couple of troubleshooter/ex-cops who were teamed up and cause massive destruction wherever they go.

The main characters are almost cast moulds of each other in a very good way. and the art style is the same if you loved The Dirty Pair you will love this

Both are 1980s action/comedy series with female lead characters.

Dirty Pair has the same playful lack of seriousness when dealing with lethal situations as Black Magic. They both feature a pair of women as the leads. They're both very funny. They both have interesting science fiction mixed with intentional goofiness. They're a clear match.
