Synopsis

Hayate Ayasaki's misfortune continues to hand him the short end of the stick. Now settled into his routine at the Sanzenins' mansion and Hakuou Academy, the butler continues to work as hard as ever in caring for his young mistress Nagi while studying the school's grueling curriculum—all on top of trying his best to survive the multitude of troubles that life relentlessly pushes onto him.

The unintentional chick magnet's life is far from quiet, forced to deal not only with Nagi's yet unnoticed infatuation with him, but also the evergrowing string of accidentally seduced girls—most notably, the exceptionally plain Ayumu Nishizawa, a friend of his before he became a butler, and the diligent Hinagiku Katsura, Hakuou's student council president. While one struggles to gain his affection and the other desperately tries to deny her own, both the girls are going to make the boy's life a little more complicated than it already is.

So, the latest installment of the story has shifted its focus away from Hayate's whopping debt of 150 million yen. Instead of that, it focuses on the in-depth interactions between the characters. If you are looking forward to see Hayate fighting his money issue, you will be shocked because that is not the main theme here. On the other hand, if you are more interested in exploring relationships, love triangles, and the delightful awkwardness among characters, then this show must definitely be your cup of tea.

Let's talk aesthetics. The art style has indeed received an upgrade since the first season, now providing bolder visuals for ...

Hayate no Gotoku is now one of the best rom-com shows that I've watched so far, from its storyline, character designs, musics etc.

Story:
- Hayate no Gotoku!! picks up the story from season 1 which is a good thing. It's almost the same as season 1 except it's fillerless.

Art:
- Art improved from the first season, animations pretty weird sometimes but that doesn't ruin your watching experience.

Sound:
- Really good OPs and EDs and also the sound effects on each scene really fits well.

Mixed Feelings
I was excited to find out that Hayate no Gotoku had a second season to follow the first. The first season's story, humor, character, and art caught my attention greatly. The original plot of Hayate no Gotoku had to do with a young (and cursed with bad luck) boy who ends up on the streets after his parents sold him to "generous" people but is luckily taken in by a rich girl, Nagi. He, in gratitude, risks everything for her and protects her as her butler. The first season followed that plot and was very enjoyable.
