Fragtime

Both are Shoujo Ai Both have an element of sci-fi / supernatural Fragtime is tamer than Kuttsukiboshi, but the latter isn't hentai. If you like short OVA / films with yuri and super powers (for lack of a better term) I would recommend either of them.  

Both shows deal with characters who feel burdened by society and responsibilities. In both series, characters defy social rules as an act of rebellion and this leads to all sorts of conflicts. 

The two are about teenage girls who want to get attention to solve their emotional problems. 

Although fragtime is a movie while citrus is a series they both dive into the same topics. unlike alot of wlw/shoujo ai anime that is usually more wholesome, both fragtime and citrus dive into dark topics. Both couples go through a lot of character development all throughout each anime, in the end both couples go from strangers to people who understand each other. in both anime the couples are teenagers/students and both face issues that affect them a lot mentally. in both anime there is the "perfect, well kept" girl who tends to distance herself from others that somehow falls in love with the other. both citrus and fragtime explore the topics of attraction, teen issues, and both explore the idea of hiding behind a mask. both haruka and mei eventually face situations where they cant hide behind their mask anymore and their feelings/emotions leak through the cracks of their masks. in both anime, there are scenes where their love interests are trying to reach out to them in hard times. the issues of acceptance from peers/family that are ripping them apart on the inside, their feelings are their dark secrets. their true selves, hidden behind masks. In each anime, in the end their masks are gone. they no longer need to hide behind their mask anymore when they are together. fragtime is a bit more mature then citrus in terms of sexuality but even so, both anime are run on encountering problems and trying to find the resolution, even if that resolution is something they could've never imagined themselves doing. if you liked citrus i'd recommend watching fragtime because you will find similar themes and alot of the same issues, even if they are in different universes/genres. read more 

Both are OVA (short movies) that explores the relationship between two adolescent women. 

- Both are anime movies that deal with messing with time - Both have elements of high school romance; Girl Who Leapt Thru Tiime is more PG while Fragtime isn't and also focuses on Girls' Love - Characters are seen growing up and becoming more aware of who they are/what they want; very much coming of age story in both 

The poster girl, incapable of getting attached much less falling in love, gets into a relationship with a reserved girl because of their common interests: external validation and escapism. Drama-heavy, melancholic anime that won't save you from the characters' existential dread.
