Both are what I consider the better Manga Time Kirara adaptations handling their own subject matter - cheerleading/yosakoi - very similarly: main character is very passionate (which means obnoxious) about recruiting members to their yet-to-be-existent club, obviously with very little success, and there's a childhood friend acting as the wingman. At least that's how they start out. Both have catchy songs for their openings you'll have hard time to forget. The main difference between the two is while Hanayamata is more dramatic in tone, Anima Yell! is more of a comedy, but takes its subject matter seriously when it matters.

-Both of the MCs have similar goals. Ex. To join the Cheer club and To join the Drama Club at their new high school. -Both of the anime are about CGDCT (Cute Girls Doing Cute Things) -Both of the MCs have their weaknesses and they try to overcome them.

Art style is very similar, same tropes with Cute Girls Cute Thing traits, character is pretty comparable to each other, same lightheardness and very easy and relaxing to watch.

-Starts with mc finding new passion, making new club about it and finding members -Problems with finding members -Cheerleading and being an idol is alike (dancing, idols making people smile, cheerleaders cheer people) -Both are CGDCT ("Cute Girls Doing Cute Things") in school -Similar characters (Kohane/Honoka, Hizume/Eri, Uki/Umi, Kotetsu/Hanayo, Kana/Nico)

Both anime are about cheerleading, but Anima Yell! is about girls and Cheer Danshi!! is about boys

Pretty much the same concept with the biggest difference being djing in D4DJ and cheerleading in Anima Yell

Both feature a high school girl who is overly passionate about something and dragging her friends along.

bright stories that involve cute girls, music, dancing, and goals in life.

Both feature an over-passionate MC who wants to form a high school club on a certain activity. Both clubs have trouble finding new members. Anima Yell is more comedy driven while Tari Tari is more toward SoL

Both anime is an SoL anime Kohane and Yui are quite similar: Both join the club having near-zero knowledge of the club activity Both a extremely passionate on what they are doing Both are quite bad with their grades. The advisor for both clubs is all quite similar as well, as they are both lazy and was forced to join as advisor. The vibe for both anime is quite similar, both are just high schoolers chilling at their clubroom doing club activities. However Anima Yell is more focused on their club activities and K-on! is focused on their everyday life.

They have exactly the same vibe. Cute girls doing wathever your scholar clubs do... Both comes from a 4-koma Kirara's manga, so the humor style is the same. The only difference is that KoiAsu focuses on a intelectual theme, and Anima Yell focuses on a sport. (Bonus: Sakurai and Hanawa/Kana are almost the same character, Kohane is like Mira, Uki is like Suzuya, Hizume looks like Ao...)

Cute girls cheerleading in a small group of 5 that does go up against a much bigger cheerleading group. Personalities between the main girls are quite similar in both tho there are little differences but still fairly similar. They both have their moments of lighthearted fun and serious drama moments within the story tho AY leans more to the funny moe side whereas NNHN leans more into drama with the development of the story.

Its almost similar things but with different object. Anima Yell! rely on Cheerleaders as main object to discover.

Similar and cute art style, with slight Yuri undertones

Both are extremely uplifting and happy shows with an MC who has a positive influence on everyone around her. About as lighthearted and wholesome as you can get.
